How do I reactivate payroll subscription? Will not work

Hi suzanne23,

You'll want to ensure that you have a current version of QuickBooks Desktop Payroll and updated billing information, so you can reactivate the payroll.

To reactivate payroll inside your QuickBooks company file:

  1. Choose My Payroll Service from the Employees menu and select Account/Billing Information.
  2. Sign in using your Intuit Account.
  3. In the Service Information section, click on the Reactivate link next to your service status.
  4. Select your payroll service and click on Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Choose a Payment Method, you can update or add your payment information. Then, select Submit.
  6. Click on Place Order.
  7. Select Next and click on Return to QuickBooks

Now, let's verify that your service is active by signing back in. Go back to the Account/Billing Information page and check the Service Status.

Otherwise, reactivate payroll service key. I'll show you how.

  1. From the Employees menu, choose My Payroll Service and select Manage Service Key.
  2. Click on Edit and select Next.
  3. Uncheck the Open Payroll Setup -  I want to start right box.
  4. Click on Finish.
  5. Then, close and reopen QuickBooks.

If you're getting any payroll message alerts, follow the troubleshooting steps in this article: Update or renew your subscription
