When you've installed new software like QBDT for Mac in your MacBook Pro, you'll have to restart to resets your operating system and apps and cleans out the active memory that programs run in. To do this, here's how:
Once you're done, open QBDT for Mac so you can get back to business.
Moreover, I would encourage you to back up your QuickBooks company file every now and then. This way, you’ll be able to restore your company file and get back to work if you ever run into a problem with your data.

Which MacOS do you run now? Maybe your QBD version doesn't support your new MacOS. Consider installing the trial version for QBD 2022 on your new machine to open your file.

My computer had to get a new hard drive, and wiped out all my data. i'm trying to reinstall quick books pro 2015. i don't have the box anymore. i need the license number and product number. my user id is not working to reinstall it.
I'm not sure your license is integrated with CAMPS. You have no choice but to buy a new license for QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus.

We had a pc crash that had a license purchased outside of our normal account and no one had taken screen shots of the license information. We have full access to the backups and can actually hit them on the hard drive that crashed, but can't reinstall the application without the license. Is there any way to access this information from the databases?

You may always access your information online as long as you registered your product. You can visit your account management portal (CAMPS) to get your product and license number. The Products & Services section of CAMPs displays all your registered Desktop apps and subscriptions, where you can obtain license information and download any QuickBooks Desktop versions you see.
However, if you didn’t register your product and can't find your license number, use the License Look Up tool.

The problem is that this version was purchased before I started working here under an unknown account (not our usual business one) so I can't use our CAMP to look it up. Then with the PC bootup crash, I can't launch the previous installation to get the necessary information for the new install.

I know this wasn't an easy experience for you. However, the system will need some business information, which you can input in the Lookup tool, so it can retrieve the installation numbers of the QuickBooks product under your account. Without them, the system will have no clue, and therefore cannot provide anything for you.
It's tax season and I know you need QuickBooks. Would you mind reaching out to our QB Desktop Support instead to find other options for you? They have more tools on their end.
