I am trying to connect my QB account to my Amazon account and when I try to connect, it asks me to enter a code, but I never get one? What should I do?

I turned on two-factor identification on Amazon, but it still won't send me a code.

I appreciate your reporting this issue to us, Phillip.

I'm here to help you sort this out so you can successfully connect your Amazon account with QuickBooks.

It could be that trusted sites are blocked, preventing you from receiving a code. You can add the *.intuit.com domain to your ad blocker's allowed list.

Also, double-check the following:

  • Make sure that you're typing in the correct phone number. In some cases, Intuit will tell you the number (or the last digits) of the phone number the verification code was sent.
  • Your phone can receive SMS. Sometimes, if you are roaming or in an area with poor reception, you may experience delays.
  • Your phone plan allows you to receive messages from short codes (5-digit numbers). Even if you can receive SMS from friends and family, your plan may not allow you to receive SMS from companies that use shortcodes to send you messages. To check if this is the case, contact your mobile operator support number and ask if your plan allows you to “Receive SMS from shortcodes”. If this functionality is disabled, ask your mobile carrier to turn it on to start receiving SMS.

In addition, check out this article for more guidance: Verify your Intuit Account with multi-factor authentication or two-step verification.

I believe their question was misunderstood. There is an option to connect your account to Amazon to see your receipt orders. When trying to connect, the site ask for a temporary identification code, but there is no code. It does not email a code, so where are we suppose to get the temporary code from?

I found the answer. In order to connect, you have to use your Amazon business account. It doesn’t work for personal accounts which sucks. I always forget to sign into my business account when I buy on Amazon for my business.

Thank you - That is what is happening then - I only have a personal account, so I suppose this feature isn't for me.

I ran into the same problem when trying to connect my QuickBooks to Amazon, it kept asking for a code, but I never got one, even with two-factor turned on. Super frustrating!

I ended up switching to Synder, and it made things way easier. It connects Amazon to QuickBooks without all the weird code issues, and it automatically syncs your sales, fees, and payouts. No more manual work or connection headaches.

If you're stuck, I’d definitely recommend giving Synder a shot. It saved me a lot of time and hassle.
