I can’t find the miles record control or count in my app

Hey there, @chimuelosbrother.

I want to make sure you have everything set up to start tracking your business miles. First off, make sure that you are logged in as a primary admin. After that, following these steps below will help you start using the automatic mileage tracking feature in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

On iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Click the menu ☰ icon.
  3. Select All.
  4. Choose Mileage.
  5. Select Auto-track your miles.
  6. Follow Allow location access onscreen instructions.

On an Android phone or tablet

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Click the menu ☰ icon.
  3. Go to the Mileage menu.
  4. Select Auto-track your miles.
  5. Give QuickBooks permission to track your location. This will vary depending on your Android Operating System:
    • For Android OS version 10 and below, select Allow, then Allow all the time.
    • For Android OS version 11 and above, select Allow in settings, then Allow all the time.

Additionally, make sure to turn on your mobile device's background location permissions. Refer to this article and proceed to Step 3 for the detailed instructions: Set up mileage tracking and vehicles in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, whenever you start driving, keep the app open during the trip to detect and track the miles. You can also add a trip manually. For the detailed steps, check this article and move on to Step 3Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.

Please come back and post about your results in getting this Tracking Mileage feature set up. It's my priority that you find the success you need. Have a great day!

I can’t find the miles record control or count in my app

Hi, @chimuelosbrother.

The steps provided by LieraMarie_A above should help you find the miles record in your QuickBooks Online mobile or iOs app. Since you don't find anything from there, I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue.

First, close and restart the application. Then, clear the app's data to reset the app to its default state. There are places to clear app data and remove cached data:

  1. In the QuickBooks Online app:
    • Android:
      1. From More Options, select Settings.
      2. Click Refresh Data, and then choose Yes.
    • iOS
      1.  From the ☰ menu, select Help & Feedback.
      2. Hit Refresh Data, and then tap on Refresh.
  2. In your device Settings:
    • Android
      1. From your device's Settings, select Apps (varies by device).
      2. Choose the QuickBooks app from the list, and then select Storage. Finally, select clear data.
    • iOS
      1. Setting General iPhone Storage from your device's Settings.
      2. Choose the app that's taking up a lot of space.
      3. To free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app, select Offload App.

Once done, review your mileage record again. I'm adding these articles as your guides:

Just in case you're getting the same result, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the QuickBooks application.
