One email address is for one QBO Accountant account. You can't use the same email address to access QBO and QBO Accountant accounts.
Thank you for visiting the Community. I understand that you are facing an issue while trying to accept a client's invitation to QuickBooks Online Accountant, as it shows an error message saying that your username is already taken. I'm here to assist you with insights to resolve this issue.
It happens when you add a team member to your firm, but there is an existing user profile tied to that email address. Here are a few ways to fix this:
Solution 1: Reactivate their existing user profile
Your team member may have already created a user profile since the email address is already in use. You can ask them to sign in to their account and check for the invite. In case they are unable to sign in, you can instruct them to follow the steps to recover their sign-in information.
Also, ensure your team member isn't marked as inactive for your firm. Go into QuickBooks Online Account and see if their profile is active. If their profile is inactive, they can't connect to your firm.
If your team member has another email address, send the invite to it. It creates a new user profile with that email address.
