I'm asked to log back into QBO Windows desktop software. If I click File/Preferences/Always Restore Windows, close QBO, open it back up, I don't have to log in anymore.

This has been happening for a long time with the QBO windows software. When I'm asked to log back into QBO Windows desktop software, I click File/Preferences/Always Restore Windows, close QBO, open it back up, I don't have to log in anymore. Why do I have to jump through this hoop to keep myself logged in?

Hello, Shaun.

Let's work together to fix the loop and help you stay signed in to the Windows app.

First, make sure to check the Stay Signed In box  when logging in to the Windows app.

If it's already checked and you're still experiencing the loop, you'll want to reset the app's data. Sometimes, an outdated or a corrupted cache data can cause certain issues like this.

Simply click the Help menu, then select Reset App Data

Another solution to do is to uninstall and reinstall the app. This ensures you have the latest components and release versions for the app.

You can follow the steps to reinstall the app in this article: QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac: General support (go to the How do I uninstall the app? section).

You can download the latest version from updated installers here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/apps/.

After fixing the loop and the sign in issues, do you need assistance with anything specific in QuickBooks Online? You can browse a number of articles in our articles list page. They'll help you manage your books, customers, vendors and such.

I'll listen and address any other concerns you might have for the Windows app or for QuickBooks Online.

Two things.  First, it is staying signed in based on my description the login page is not detecting I'm signed in unless I flip the switch File/Preferences/Always Restore Windows.  It doesn't matter if it was previously checked or unchecked.  Simply toggling that switch, closing QBOD, opening it back up, I'm signed in without having to login. Second, I just formatted my computer.  This is still happening, same symptoms.  I saw a customer with a laptop having the same issue.  I have Win10 Pro, they have Win10 Home, entirely different hardware.  This must me an issue you guys are aware of by now.  Please get your dev team to look at this.
