I can help you with turning off that verification process, @info-bellscapes-.
That verification process is a security enhancement on top of the usual password requirement. It works as an extra layer of security wherein a one-time confirmation code is given when you log in.
To turn that off, you'll just have to log in to your Intuit Account. Follow the steps below:

Hi Mary Joy,
The two step verification process was already turned off. But Quickbooks still continues to send codes to my email for me to sign in. It’s just very frustrating because I will have customers stop in to pay and they have to stand there and wait for me to sign back in, fetch a code, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Quickbooks never leaves me signed in (even after adjusting the sign in time in the settings). Any help would be appreciated.
Hi info-bellscapes-,
I would also be wondering and feel frustrated if I'm still getting a code even after disabling the multifactor authentication. I would recommend checking this with our Support team since they have access to accounts. That way, they can help you immediately, and you'll no longer get codes when you sign in.
I can see that MaryJoy has already provided you some articles for your reference. If there's anything you need, just comment below.
My 2 step verification is off but I still get messages to sign in to Intuit every time I open my QB accounts
Let get things sorted out, hoffjnjr.
There are times that the browser's cache stores internet files and history that causes unusual behavior within QuickBooks. We can verify that by login into a private (incognito) browser. Since you're using a private browser, the systems still need to verify your account. Once you're signed in, go to your profile to check if the two-step verification process was successfully turned off.
Then, go back to the main browser and clear the cache. Afterward, sign in to the regular browser if you're still prompted to verify your account. Other supported browsers can help you isolate these kinds of issues.
If you get the same thing, I recommend contacting us so we can investigate further. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague.
Keep me posted on how this works. I'll be around the corner to help. Take care!
In security pane, the verification says 'turn on' so I assume it's off but I still have to use it to get on.
I am all for security, but the email or phone call every single time.
Why are they not using MFA. Most of my software is using it now. So much easier, and then once I am in - I am in and if I get logged out for inactivity, it is just a password. We can be smart without being annoying. Just sayin...
This did not work for me I did not have a turn off button only turn on button
I appreciate the things that you’ve done so far, @customae. Allow me to show you how to turn off the two step verification.
The two-two-factor authentication is an additional layer that strengthens the security of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. You have the option to turn off this function if it does not work for your company.
If you're using the same phone number, these are the steps:
1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
2. Tap Sign In & Security from the left menu.
3. In the “Two-step verification” section, hit Turn off.
4. Enter the code.
5. Select Continue.
If you are using a different phone number, here’s how you can turn it off:
A reminder, make sure to enter your new phone number in the Recovery Number field.
2. Attach a copy of any of your photo ID forms:
3. Once the file is uploaded, select Submit.
4. Once you receive a notification that your phone number is update, sign in to your Intuit account.
5. From the left menu, select Sign In & Security.
6. In the "Two-step verification" section, select Turn off.
7. Enter the code, then select Continue.
Please know that the steps for disabling two-steps verification/multi-factor authentication are the same. By logging in to your Intuit account, you should see the option there.

There is NO off button just a turn on button, so now what. Has no one QB seen the same responses and mine that it does not work.......

I have the same issue!!!! It wants to verify its me EVERY time I sign in to quickbooks! It is not the 2 step verification! It is already turned off!
We'd really want to have this sorted out for you, cargirl56.
Multi-factor or 2-step verification is an additional layer of security that QuickBooks have to protect your data and personal information. However, QuickBooks also give you an option to turn it on or not.
You should no longer receive a prompt to enter a text code once the setting for 2 step verification is turned off.
Since you're still prompted to enter one, I would recommend reaching out to our phone and chat support teams. They can help you review your account and make sure you're no longer going through the verification process when logging in.
Here's how to reach out to them:

I talked to QB help personally and they have opened a case bc of the issues I have with two-step verification. I don't even have a privacy setup but I don't have a turn-off button either.
Same problem. Now it is asking my Accountant to verify the account, but sending me the code. This is stupid.
Same problem here. Trying chat to see if they can resolve.
