I paid the annual subscription $377.50 for the online version on 5/25/21

 

Not sure what these recurring charges of $45.60 on 7/1 and then $57.00 on 7/25???

Having recurring charges on your account is hard to deal with, oa3.

 

All our payroll services have a base price and a fee per active employee you have processed payroll for. You'll see the information in the Important offers, pricing details, & disclaimers at the bottom section in the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Plan article. 

 

For recurring charges on your bank account, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and provide your details with the breakdown of your subscription charges (we're unable to access your billing details in a public space). You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. See our support hours and types for more details about this one. Here's how to reach them: 

  1. Click the Help icon on the top menu. 
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help
  3. Tap Contact us.
  4. Select Search for something else and enter your concern in the Tell us more about your question: field. 
  5. Tap Search
  6. Choose Start a Message or Get Phone Number to connect with our support.

If you are still using QB Desktop 2021, you can still purchase the one time license of it from several partners to replace your existing license. Fyi, they have announced their plan to increase the license price for the upcoming QB Desktop 2023 and the renewal price for QB Desktop 2022.

They support QB Desktop 2021 until May 31, 2024. Then you can still use it without any patch update or online services (e.g bank feeds, add-ons)

We just got our annual subscription renewal for our Desktop Pro 2021 QB for $749.00. 

Uh, yea...that was a bit of a shocker. 

 

The breakdown of our services as listed on our biz account is:

- Intuit Data Protect Monthly

- Intuit QB Data Recovery Service

- Intuit QB Annual Support

 

....but it does not list what EACH of these services costs.  Nor, what exactly they are and do for us.  I don't even remember specifically signing up for these services or certainly I would have asked what these services each are then.

 

Can anyone enlighten me what the cost per each is and what each does???

The charges on your account will depend on your active subscriptions. Those you've mentioned are already part of what you're paying annually.

 

The features and services vary on your existing plan. The breakdown you see on your account is services we include once you use the annual Desktop Pro 2021.

 

The Products & Services section of CAMPs shows all your registered Desktop subscriptions. It's where you can find info license info or download any versions of QuickBooks Desktop you see.

Thank you!  I finally got a callback from QB re: billing issues and they explained that ALL that I listed are subscription-based services (all-inclusive with the subscription), and QB Desktop is subscription-based now (not just software), and the big hike we saw in our bill was the cost of having more than one user, which we don't really need.  My husband is the boss, the company runs from our home, and we both live under the same roof. We cut back to one user and are being refunded on our credit card.  So we're going from $749.00 down to $549.00---same thing we paid last year for our subscription renewal.  

 

I also inquired why we never got a pre-emptive email notice about the upcoming renewal charge to our credit card.  Both departments I spoke with on that acted apologetic but had no idea why one wasn't sent.  I searched all my old mail, spam, and trash and there was none sent.  People like to know when a charge is going on their card before it happens.  I don't have every subscription date in my life committed to memory to expect.  So yea....a notice would be the professional thing to do.  

 

And as far as communication goes, I'm really on top of email, and I don't recall getting any notice re: the changes to QB Desktop going subscription-based and what all would be included with that, and why this has been a big mystery to me.  How did I miss that?  :::head-scratch:::

QB Desk Top Pro 2021

We just recently retired after 40 years in business

I used QB to do payroll.

After retiring I canceled payroll services and just use QB for my home bill paying.

Do I still owe an annual subscription fee?  It is pretty steep.

Why was I charged $500.00 for my Quickbooks Subscription???????

I'll provide a brief overview of the subscription charges, BL29.

 

If you're using QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus, the basic bookkeeping rates start at $500 to $799 per year (prices vary by user and year you subscribed). If you have payroll, we have a base price and a fee per active employee you have processed payroll for. To check your subscription charges' details, I recommend logging in to your Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPS). Go as follow:

 

  1. Go to camps.intuit.com and sign in with your Intuit credentials.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop from the list of your products.
  3. Find the subscription you want to check. 
  4. Review the charges from there. 

 

I recommend contacting our Customer Support team if the charges are still off. They can further check and explain your subscription charges. Please follow the steps provided by AbegailS_ above. Ensure to reach them within business hours to guarantee a swift response.

The answer I got today November 13,2023 was that if we want to use desktop enhance payroll and continue to get Qtrly updates and file Qtr tax through the QB sites, we will have to go on the annual subscription. 

We also have to pay for each license we have, so for two pc operating each license, i pay $849.00 and that is not including the $50.00 flat rate for employee use, or the now $5.00 per name of employee. so my new QB usage, not by choice is running about $180.00 month for 5 - 8 workers.

But wait, they told me if I use enhanced payroll, I have to have this new annual subscription. So you cant get rid of it or your enhanced payroll won't function.

not true for me, they just charged me $849.00 for annual subscription, and I pay $50.00 basic flat rate for add on the call it, enhanced payroll and $5.00 per worker check.

I have use QB since 1998. Yes they used to send you a disk for each license you purchased. If you and your worker each use your own pc, you need to purchase for each machine. To your point, they sent you disk to install yourself and then have in the event you needed them. Then they stopped that in about 2010 and sent me internet downloads. 

now, in 2023, i just got charged against my credit card $849.00 for annual subscription! No they don't give you an explaination, because today they told me there isn't one, this is just there new pricing. 

So if I want to keep them, its $849.00 annually, plus the add on they call it of desktop enhanced payroll and that is an extra flat fee monthly of $50.00 per month and then $5.00 per workers name each month, so thats about $180.00 for me per month. When it use to be a $350.00 per year, and again to your point I DID NOT HAVE TO BUY A NEW PROGRAM DISK EVERY YEAR. IT IS PRICE GOUGING, and part of becoming a third world country.

Another option, use a non-subscription QB Desktop license + a 3rd party payroll app to lower your annual cost. You can't integrate both program and you can import the payroll data as JE.
