Up until last week, I could see audit logs for each individual in my firm. Today, I noticed that everyone in my firm shows up as me in the audit log. I submitted feedback for this to be fixed. If it's not fixed, I might as well give everyone my username and password because the audit trail will be useless. Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Thanks for visiting us today, Coldham. I'm here to provide some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue where the audit log feature isn't working well in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Sometimes, local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the reason why the audit log is not working correctly.
If you haven't already, we can try accessing your account in a private window to rectify this issue. The private window will not save any history, making it a good place to identify browser problems. You can access this by pressing the following keys:
Once you're in incognito mode, go to the audit log and see if it is showing correctly. If everything works fine using a private window, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.
If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team since they're equipped with the necessary tools to perform a screen-sharing session to conduct further investigation into this behavior.

Looks like it was fixed. Thank you!!
Good afternoon, @Coldham.
I appreciate you reaching back out and letting us know how these steps went.
I'm glad this was able to fix your problem. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Have a wonderful day!
My issue was fixed after I sent feedback within the application. The instructions that were provided here did not fix my issue and were unhelpful.
Businesses rely on Qbo for managing their financial records and for them to accurately reflect what they input. Were the instructions given above implying that a browser could alter financial data or the audit trail?
I appreciate you taking the time to provide updates on how your concern is resolved, @Coldham. I'm here to share additional information about your query.
Browser does not alter your QuickBooks financial data or the information in the audit trail. The browser is an application to access your QuickBooks account online. Also, the program has security measures to ensure that not personal information or data will leak outside of the system.

Additionally, to further investigate why the details in your audit log change, I suggest reaching out to our Phone support.
