Yes, you can delete transactions by batch. However, there are selected transactions you can delete by bulk, like Invoices, Sales receipts, Refunds, and Estimates. Some transaction types not mentioned are unable to delete by batch.

When I click on multiple transaction the batch delete option is grayed out. Why?

I tried to select 'All Transactions' under Type and it wouldn't work. I then try to just filter by one type and selected 'Invoices' only which then allows me to delete the transactions (100 at a time).
Then when I move down to the "Money Received" and "Recently Paid" the "Delete" function under the Batch Actions is now grayed out.

In QuickBooks, there are transaction types that you can delete and others can only be voided. If you select Payments, automatically the delete option will be greyed out. In your case, you can select only the Sales Receipt and other transactions to utilize the batch delete feature.

So batch delete function is not available for the Money Received" and "Recently Paid? Does this mean we have to delete all the transactions one by one?

You can batch delete Money Received transactions like Invoices and Sales receipts. The option to delete by batch will be grayed out once you include transactions aside from Invoices, Sales receipts, Refunds, and Estimates.

What we really need is to deleted all type "Payment" with a status of "Unapplied".
Can you be done as a batch? We are talking about 18000 line of transactions to be deleted manually.
