I want to UPLOAD a PDF of my own TO Quickbooks for my accountant to view. It says SHARE DOCs and that's what I am trying to do - I am not attempting to export a report to my accountant. I want to UPLOAD a doc TO quickbooks.
Thanks for coming back for more support, @frustrated34.
I understand that you want to let your accountant see your files.
In QuickBooks Online, you don't need to manually share your company data with your accountant. Instead, you'll want to invite them so they'll have access to your account. It lets them review your books, modify, and fix any tricky transactions within QuickBooks.
Here's how:

No, I am sorry - that's not what I asked at all. I asked if I can UPLOAD a document to QB to share with my accountant. I know this is a feature on the QB desktop version. To clear up confusion . . . say i want to upload a spreadsheet or a receipt to show my accountant - can i do that?
Hello, frustrated34.
Yes, you can upload documents in QuickBooks, but you can't share files with your accountant without inviting the accountant to log in and use your account.
If you haven't yet sent an invitation to your accountant, you can follow my colleague's steps above.

So, say i want to upload a PDF of a bank statement (I already have a bank account tied to qb but would like to show her something specific on a PDF. I have already invited her to QB and she has access so that is not an issue. Can i just upload a document into the Share Documents area or do I have to tie it to a customer, invoice, etc? It doesn't belong tied to anything specific - I just need to show her a PDF. It truly seems like this is a huge hassle and I don't understand why there isn't a folder to share with my accountant (who already has access to QB with me).
Hi there,
I can share some information about how to upload a pdf of a bank statement into QuickBooks Online.
You can go to the Attachment page to view all the uploaded pdf files associated with a transaction or customer and vendor profiles. This way, it'll be easy to keep track of your company's record. I’ll show you how:
With regards to bank statements, importing them through a PDF file is currently unavailable. When getting transactions from your bank, I recommend asking for the CSV file. This is specifically for QBO. It’ll help ensure you've got the correct format before uploading and categorizing it.
You can check out this article to learn more about the format of CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
However, if your bank doesn't offer any file formats aside from PDF, you’ll want to consider manually uploading the transactions.
Here’s how:
For more detailed steps, see this link. It includes a short video that’ll guide you through uploading your transactions and categorizing them.
I also suggest visiting this article in case you haven’t connected your bank account to QuickBooks yet. This way, you can use the Online Banking feature, which downloads your transactions automatically. Then, you can proceed to reconcile them.
