Hello, hj-leibovitz-gma.
When you connect your PayPal account to QuickBooks Online, you'll be prompted to enter your email address (User ID) associated with your PayPal account.
To learn more about how PayPal works in QBO and Frequently Asked Questions, please check out this article: Use the Connect to PayPal app.
Once the PayPal account is connected to QBO, you will see “money-in” and “money-out” transactions in the Banking section. Then you can start to Categorize PayPal expenses in the Banking section.
Don't forget to reconcile your account as you would with a regular bank account to ensure everything is accurate. Also, the ending balance should always be zero.
Stay in touch if you have questions while working in QuickBooks. I'm here ready to help you. Wishing you the best. Take care!
No, my question was not answered. My access to this PayPal account is by user name, NOT by email address. The pop-up window to sign in won't accept it because it doesn't have a "@."
I felt sad that you are not able to connect your PayPal, hj-leibovitz-gma.
The instruction doesn't actually specify that you need an email user ID on PayPal. Let's try out some steps to check if this is caused by random browser issues.
To start, you'll want to open a private or incognito browser, log in to QuickBooks, and connect your PayPal account. If you're able to do so, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If it's the same thing, please try other browsers to isolate the case or contact our QuickBooks Support, so they can investigate this.
I'm just available for any other concerns you may have. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day.
Here's what happened when I tried to log in using an incognito window. first, I should mention that it actually says "Email" in the data entry field. Second, I got the exact same error message, that there's no "@" in your email address. Then the field turns red and if I click on it again it says my format is invalid. It does have a PayPal banner, so maybe it's PayPal's problem.
