How, in God's name, do I turn off this stupid 2 step verification and recaptcha process? The support people are not answering and I can't change the settings.

4 - 5 scenarios of recaptcha and then wait for the code. I log in 4 - 5 times per day and have to go thru this each time? Come on!

Hi there, kevin99.

We value your time and your business. And I'd be glad to share a few insights about the robot page and verification code.

Robot page/CAPTCHA and verification code are based on the browser. If you log in your account to a different browser, a robot page and a verification code will be asked.

Also, you will be asked for a verification code if the browser is set to “do not remember history”.

Since the CAPTCHA is from your internet browsers, I recommend reading this article to know more about how to remove robot page/CAPTCHA verification in your browser: How to Remove Captcha-Verification.systems Pop-ups [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

This will help you stay signed in. If there are other questions we can help you with, please let me know by posting here in the Community. Stay safe!

I’m here to help remove the CAPTCHA for Mac.

Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) helps to avoid from any thwarting spam and automated extraction of data from websites. This is also an added security feature for web browser applications, like QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You need to uninstall Captcha-verification.systems to remove it correctly on your computer. Let me show you how:

  1. In the Finder sidebar, click Applications.
  2. Captcha-verification.systems might have an Uninstaller.
  3. Otherwise, drag Captcha-verification.systems from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock).
  4. Choose Finder, then Empty Trash.
  5. Once done, use CleanMyPC to clean leftover items.

You can also turn off this feature in Safari to stop the notification when accessing QuickBooks. Here are instructions:

  1. Open Safari.
  2. At the top menu, click Safari, then choose Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, go to the Websites tab.
  4. On the left side, choose Notifications.
  5. You will see the list of websites and their settings for showing notifications.
  6. Find Captcha-verification.systems in the list and click Remove button.

Don't hesitate to post again or leave a comment if you have any follow-up questions. I'm here to make sure your files an information are safe.

I agree, PITA.   In my Intuit account -  2 Step Verification is "turned off " yet I still have to receive a code via my phone everytime I want to log in.  I am master admin and this is extremely frustrating and controlling.

I have turned on - turned off, tried different browsers, cleared cache/history, etc etc etc.  Yet no luck.

Cheers

How, in God's name, do I turn off this stupid 2 step verification and recaptcha process? The support people are not answering and I can't change the settings.

Thanks for coming back to the Community, Haven.

I appreciate all your efforts in trying to turn off the two-step verification option and its result.

Since you continue to receive a code, I recommend contacting our QBO Care Team. One of our specialists will collect personal data to open the account.

Then, review your information and trace what’s causing the issue. Once identified, they’ll help you apply the permanent solution.

Here’s how:

  1. Press the Help icon at the top to display the QB Assistant window.
  2. Then, click the Talk to a human menu and enter the issue/topic.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
  4. From the option, choose Message an agent for real-time assistance or Get a callback.

If you want to add an extra layer of protection for your account, I’m adding the article to help you activate the security feature: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

Don’t hesitate to visit the Community if you have any QuickBooks concerns. I’m always ready to help and make sure you’re taken care of. Have a good one.

My browser is remembering my history (Firefox 82.0), and I'm getting 2 factor authentication requests every time I sign in.  Please have your developers look into this.

This is NOT solved.  You should remove the "solved" tag from this post.

This all started last week.  You guys changed your security process.  I have not changed anything on my computer.  Please fix this.  I stay logged into quickbooks and tsheets all day, and have for years.  It has never been a problem before.  Please fix this.

I just cancelled my Quickbooks account due to not being able to turn off two factor ID. I'm extremely disappointed that I was able to create an account and spend hours entering my info and sending invoices without having to do 2 factor. When I attempted to sign back in it would not let me access my account without entering my number which I did not want to do. I'd like a refund. My time has thoroughly been wasted

Kevin.. I feel your pain, I'm so tired of this crap. I use a password and now have to have text message code also, I log in many times in a day and to have to do this when I'm speaking to one of my customers who wants to pay their bill, but has to wait until I find my phone(that I usually leave in my van) for my text code is ridiculous. Mine even reads "Turned off" I just hung up from qkbks support, NO HELP, I feel they keep passing "the buck" to the next person because they don't have a fix for it. Someone is supposed to call me back... but I have a feeling it still won't be fixed. I feel this was turned on intentionaly because I didn't do anything different.  This post should NOT read SOLVED because clearly it isn't.

I agree this is not solved. I never got this until about a week ago and I do not want to get a text to log into my QBO every time I walk away for 20 minutes.

Your solution is NOT a solution.

Something broke, or changed. I've never had 2FA or MFA set up, and it is now forcing me, even though it is off.

Same problem here. I did all the steps shown and called when nothing worked, yet a month later it still has not been fixed and from further reading has been going on a couple of years. That makes it seem like forced 2 step authentication wanted by the customer or not.

This issue with the CAPTUA being constantly forced is NOT SOLVED... NOR RESOLVED.

Threads as recent as 4/21. and now mine of 6/21 are proof that this issue has not been tended to.

Having spent time with the support team, they send useless diversions, as are exampled in this thread.

Why this is so  hard is a  mystery.

Why cant you fix a simple problem?  Something was done that started the problem.  Why not undo that... and get this irritation out of the way?

Truly "Resolve" the issue?

I hear you and understand how CAPTCHA affects your organization, @AlexinVA. That's why I'm here to share further details about this.

CAPTCHA helps prevent any spam and abuse from websites. It's an added security feature for web browser applications, like QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, disabling the CAPTCHA and email verification code isn't an option in QBO. This is because they're based on the browser you're using. They'll occur when your browser is set to "do not remember history"  or every time you log in to your account using a different one.

Also, as your customers and employees trust you with their information, Intuit is committed to securing your information by providing advanced security tools and systems. If you wish to know more about this, check out this article: Verify your account with multi-factor authentication.

We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. Please know that I'm always right here whenever you need help with your QuickBooks account. Just leave a comment below, and we'll get back to you. Take care.

Ongoing issue for me since 2020 and I've had a gutfull .  I have to receive via text a verification number to log in to QBO.  The Two step Verification has never been turned on in my personal account and yet, every effing time, multiple times a day, I have to chase this carrot.    Everything has been tried to rectify.  INTUIT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.

I would feel the same way if I were in your position, Haven.

I understand that you've been following up on this. However, I would still recommend contacting our Support team once more to check back the status of your case. They have the tools for security verification, so they can do some tests while they are assisting you. Please see their schedule in this article: QuickBooks Online Support.

Quickbooks user for years that suddenly got demands for two-factor authentication I did not request. After turning off two-factor authentication successfully for a few weeks, it suddenly reappears as an email code. You can't even choose to get an email in the Intuit security settings. Yes my Intuit account settings are "off" and no I didn't change anything. No way to toggle it off/on, SINCE EMAIL ISN'T EVEN AN OPTION. I don't have time for this. Move it to the top of your bug list and fix it.

It's funny - it's Aprl 27 2022, and to get it to post this I had to go through recaptcha, receive a text for the code. And, I've been in Quickbooks all day. Every time I log into quickbooks it happens - I've tried EVERYTHING. The directions people give (Safari preferences, delete from Mac) are all nonsense. Then you see a chirpy QBO employee telling you everything's OK.

Guys. Fix this. I'll join the others in finding another software.
