How to change default email address when using Quickbooks Email

Hi, I'm using QB Enterprise 2024 and recently ran into a problem where Outlook/Webmail doesn't appear to be supported by my server host so I'm forced to send email using Quickbooks Email. When using Webmail, the "from" was my email address, however with Quickbooks Email, the "from" is "Intuit E-Commerce Service". Is there any way to change this since it may get rejected from my customer

How to change default email address when using Quickbooks Email

I acknowledge that you'll want to change the default "from" email address when using QuickBooks Email, @Lilalykat. I'll provide more information about this matter and ensure you can send forms to your customers.

Changing the default email address when using QuickBooks Email is not possible. You can only add or modify such information if you choose Web Mail.

In cases where you're unable to use Web Mail, let's take some troubleshooting steps to rectify this. First, ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Then, check the settings in the webmail preferences. You can follow these steps:

  1. Hover over the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  2. Press Send Forms.
  3. In the My Preferences section, select the email account you're using. Pick Edit.
  4. Go to the SMTP Server Details area. Set the server name and port to your email provider settings. Refer to Set up your email service in QuickBooks Desktop for guidance.

Proceed to Solution 3 in this article if the issue persists:
Fix Error: Could not connect to the email server.

For future use, you can create a customized email template when sending messages/forms from QuickBooks.

That should enable you to send forms with the correct "from" email address. I'm always available to provide support and guidance if you need additional help. Best wishes!
