I have a quickbooks onlne account I have been invited to another company using the same sign on. How do i accept the other company?

Hello,

Click on the link in the email with the invitation and it should bring you to a page to create an Intuit ID.  Scroll down near the bottom and you should see a link that says SIGN IN (Its in small lettering).  Click that and sign-in with your existing user ID and password.

This will allow you to accept the invite to the 2nd company using your existing login.

Good day, southst09.

Accepting the invitation is quite easy, we only need to pull up the invitation from your email. Here are the steps on how to do it:

  1. Log in using your email address and click the invitation email.
  2. At the bottom part, click SIGN IN.
  3. Enter the user ID and password to completely accept their invitation.

Just virtually tap me on the shoulder whenever you need help about managing user your QuickBooks account. Otherwise, you can enjoy your day! Take care!

I continue to run into the same issue when trying to accept a new client, it takes me to the 'sign up' page every time and won't allow me to log in to my account to add the client, I've tried everything to bypass it, but no luck. Could you please help, as I have a client that needs urgent help and I can't get into his books

Thanks for becoming part of the Community, blueprintbookkeeping.

Since you're unable to accept your invitation, there's a few things I'd recommend troubleshooting. Initially, you'll want to confirm your client's sending the invite to an accurate email. It needs to be identical to the one linked with your user ID. Also be sure to log out of any additional companies open in other windows/tabs.

Next, check the sign in details you're using by opening their email, selecting Accept Invitation, then signing in with your username and password. If you encounter problems getting into the account, you can recover your user ID and/or reset its password.

In the event you're still unable to connect, it could have something to do with temporary internet files. Browsers store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause problems on certain webpages. You can open a private window and try accepting it again.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used browsing applications:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift P
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If you're able to accept their invitation, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by temporary internet files. It can be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.

In the event this issue continues, ask your client to cancel their invite and send a new one. If the next invitation presents this same problem, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Let me help you accept the invitation so you can log in to your QuickBooks Online account, Gerard M.

I've invited someone to access my QuickBooks account and this is what their email looks like. See the attached screenshot below.

If you're seeing the same details, you can click the Let's go link to open the login page. Enter your existing QuickBooks credentials.

If you're invited as the accountant of the company, the content is like this. Click the Accept Invite button and follow onscreen instructions.

You can browse this link to learn how to accept the invitation: How to Add Clients to QuickBooks Online Accountant. It explains what things to do when you're invited to access the account.

Please let me know the content of the email so I can tell what steps you need to take. Or if you need anything else to access the invitation. I'll be around to help you.

Any ideas?

@MNT1277

It is possible that your client has invited you as an accountant (not a user) and you will need to register a QBO Accountant account to access their books.

Let's get this sorted out, rbf and assoc.

Have you tried opening your QuickBooks using a private window (Incognito)? If not, let's go ahead and open your QuickBooks using incognito. It is possibly a browser-related issue. Also, this session disables the corrupted cache in your browser and prevents unexpected QuickBooks Online behavior.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P

If it works, you may want to clear the browsing history of your regular web browser. This will remove previously-stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Otherwise, you can try using other supported browsers to be thorough. Another option is to use the browser health checkup tool to see if your browser is compatible.

If the same thing happens, I suggest contacting our support team directly. They have the tools to further investigate and check your account in a safe environment, and they can help find the root cause of your issue and find a fix.

You can bookmark this future reference in case you need more idea about setting up and fixes when your client's invitations aren't in your email: What to do if invited users did not receive your email invitation.

Please tag me in your comment if you have additional questions. I'll get back to you as fast as I can. Stay safe, and have a nice day!

Keep in mind, you can't use the same email address to access QBO and QBO Accountant account.
