I will be merging two QB Online Files. How do I do a backup on the company that will be closed?

When I go to the new QB online, I will delete one of the companies but I will also upgrade the remaining QB online company.

You can export the QBO account you want to cancel to a QB Desktop file for your archive. You can utilize the trial version for QB Desktop to open it for 30 days.

I'm here to provide you with some information about backup company files in QuickBooks Online, guidrylawo.

 

We can save online backups of our data when we're using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced. To do this, we'll have to turn this on, so our data is backed up automatically every 5 - 10 minutes. 

 

If we're using the regular QBO version, isn't possible. Though, we can use it to export the company lists only. You can check this article for more information: Export lists from the old company file into a new data file.

 

Also, if we want to cancel, QuickBooks Online will keep your data for a year and will still allow you read-only access to be able to print forms and reports we might need in the future.
