Import Company Multiple Times During 60 Days

Hi,

I just subscribed to QBO Advanced and am preparing to import our company's data from QBDT Plus. Our online account is 2 days old. Am I correct in my understanding that I may experiment around in QBO Advanced with my company's data if I wish as long as I keep in mind that any new import from QBDT to QBO during the 60 day window will completely overwrite the company file?

For internal reasons, we may not wish to make the permanent transition for a few weeks and I would like to work in QBO in the meantime. I am aware that 60 days is a firm cutoff and I know  how to keep an eye on that clock.

Thanks,

Tom

Yes, that's right. @BellFinance. I'll share the details about the time limit for importing your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can only import your QBDT data within the first 60 days of your QBO company start date and will also replace your entire QBO file and overwrite any existing information. Here's a reference to learn more: Time limit for importing data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

For a detailed step-by-step guide about moving your QBDT file to QBO, please refer to this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, your books may look slightly different when migrating from QBDT to QBO. Here's a guide for more information: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

@BellFinance

Yes, correct. You can also use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good if required.

Thanks. Just to be sure I understand though, I may repeat the import process as often as I wish within the 60 day period, correct?

Just a note to say that I've imported our company twice from QBDT Plus to QBO Advanced now (we aren't making the permanent transition for two more weeks) and the process was quite straightforward. And the data is clean. Thanks!
