Based on the attached document, it appears that the previous primary admin only updated the email address, but the name remains unchanged. He needs to transfer the role rather than just editing the information.

(The last person assign has not been involved for six YEARS and is NO longer WILLING to assist. He tried updating and adding me as a primary on Friday yet was unable to follow QB guidance as there was no Action section with an ellipsis. It is now in my hands. The bureaucracy to fix this is mind numbing.
You can share these steps with the last primary admin: Head to the Gear icon, then Manage Users. Look for the user to whom you want to transfer the role. If you haven't added them, ensure to do so. In the User Type column, ensure they are listed as Company Admin. If not, select Edit to change their role. Select the ellipsis icon in the Action section. Then, select Change primary admin. Pick Change primary admin again to confirm. Sign out of QuickBooks.

More bureaucracy is not the proper solution. You might ask, why am is this guy being such a pain. Here is why: I also have three company files with QB Desktop that I recently took on the responsibility for accounting and was facing the same situation. Called intuit and was given the same recommendation suggested.....blah blah blah, send a photo ID, Articles of incorporations etc.. Just as I was about to reach out to gather all this info, I called Intuit again. Surprise-- I actually reached someone at Intuit that was able to help. I was guided to Company, User, manage users and within two minutes I was able to change the primary admin to me.
I know that I am not alone in the frustration faced with Intuit "experts'.
Does QB have a management team that looks over these back and forth discussions. No actions.
How about concealing my service agreement then settling up a new company. Would that work?
Last resort, you can purchase a 3rd party service to reset the Admin password for your QB Desktop files.

In response to your additional question, I see that you were able to change your name based on your previous post. Yes, that will work. You can create a new company, both QuickBooks Online and Desktop. This will automatically designate you as the owner of the new file.
