Trying to change date ..continues to revert to today. I have new 2019 desktop for Mac. My old version allowed me to click calendar and save. Not this one
Hello Fran8.
For QuickBooks Mac, you can go to the QuickBooks Preferences section and update the closing date there. This way, you can edit and save the date on the transactions.
Here's how:
Please let me know how it goes. I'll be right here if you're still unable to create transactions or edit the dates.
I'm having the same problem in the new QB for Mac 2019 - today's date is 1/25/19, but QB thinks it's currently 12/31/18. How do I correct this?
Hello, Sallstott.
If this is happening to the whole QuickBooks system, try to close and relaunch your QuickBooks. However, if this happens when creating transactions, go to QuickBooks at the top, select Preferences, and select Transactions. Make sure that the use current date as default on a new transaction was checked.
Reach us again if there’s anything else you need.
Is there no way to reset current date for the whole of Quickbooks other than closing the program and restarting? I do not always close my program from day to day, and the current date will not update until I do so.
Hi there, kimmcluff.
You can try updating your QuickBooks to the Latest Release. This helps download updates to improve the program functionality and fix common issues.

Hello Linden,
Unusual behaviors like this can be caused by browser-related issues. Let's do a few troubleshooting steps to see if this is the case.
Here's how:
Let me know how these steps work. I'm just here if you need more help.
Found The Problem
If you process an Expense, Bill, and enter a invoice date that is anything but the current date it keeps that date system wide.
So when you go to do an Invoice the invoice date has changed from current to the date you used when entering the Bill invoice date.
Logging Off won't fix it
Shutting down PC wont fix it
Clearing Cache works as you suggested
May I suggest this is a BUG, at the very least changing from Sales to Expenses it should default to current date not some date used somewhere else within QBO
Regards Linden
Hi,
I ran into the same problem before with quickbooks. Its your date format that is wrong on your pc - laptop, it should be the same as what the other users settings are on their machines.
On windows you can change it by going into the control panel and selecting Region, Additional settings and then date.
Regards
Quintin
I have this problem too with Mac desktop 2019. Have you found a solution?
Thanks for joining this thread, CRTG.
If you're trying to create transactions in QuickBooks and the date is different on your Mac computer, it's possible that the current date is not set as default in the settings. Before making any changes, let's make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop for Mac to the latest release. Then, try to close and relaunch your QuickBooks
Once done, you can follow these steps:
After the steps above, check the transaction to see if the dates are matching.
Otherwise, you can follow the suggestion provided by doolingq to update the date on your computer settings.
Let me know how it goes and I'll get back to you.
No - it is Windows. Go to Settings/Time and Language/Synchronize your Clock.
Done!
I am having the same problem.
Nothing above worked.
