Since the Sales tax part of the program changed you Liability report is wrong per the state of Wisconsin - you need that report to show ALL sales - even out of state!!!

You need to correct your software! All out of state sales that have no sales tax has to be part of the GROSS SALES. You're report only shows sales in WI - not correct per the State! When I call no one has an answer!

Hello there, eisenarmsllc.

This isn’t what I want for you. I know how important it is for your business to able to see all sales in the Sales Tax Liability Report.

The Automated Sales Tax feature calculates the rate based on the following information.

  • Your customer’s tax-exempt status
  • Where you sell and where you ship
  • Your service or product’s tax category

When you create invoices or other sales entries, make sure to mark the box for Tax. This is to ensure all sales are tracked in QBO.

The data generated in the report is also based on the transactions recorded in the company. Let’s open your invoices one at a time. Then tick the box for Tax so all out of state transactions will show in the report.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu on the left panel to choose Invoices.
  2. From there list, pick the one you’re working on and hit the drop-down arrow under the Action column to choose View/Edit.
  3. On the Invoice page, navigate to the Tax column and mark the box.
  4. Hit Save to keep the changes.

I’m adding some links that cover all the details about the automated sales tax feature and how to manage invoices in QBO.

Stay in touch if you still need help with QuickBooks. I’ll be around to assist further. Have a good one.
