I'm here to make sure that your Budget vs. Actual report will show the data accurately, @dr-orit-painscie.
The Budgets vs. Actuals report shows your actual income and expenses compared to your budgeted amounts. To ensure that it would show the data you needed, let's create a budget for this period or year.
To proceed, we can create a copy of an existing budget. This jumpstarts your new budget by using last year's data. Here’s how to copy a budget:
- Go to the Settings menu and then Budgeting.
- Find the budget you want to copy.
- In the Action column, choose the ▼ dropdown, and then select Copy.
- On the Copy Budget screen, enter the new budget name and financial year.
- Click Create Budget.
- Update the budget amounts as necessary.
- Choose Save or Save and close.
This saves the copy as a new, separate budget. For more information, you can also review this link: Create budgets in QuickBooks Online. It also include steps on how to delete and edit a budget.
Once done, generate again your Budget vs. Actual report in your QuickBooks Online account.
Additionally, you can personalize your statements to focus on the details that matter to you the most. Doing so will let you show specific accounts or format the layout to get the information you need. To learn more about this process, you can refer to this resource: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
