AMEX Not Compatible with QB

QB online and phone support state they don't know how and can't fix getting your AMEX card linked to QB. It's a shame they can't figure it out and find it odd they can connect many banks but not AMEX?

AMEX Not Compatible with QB

Hi @Jdean011. I'll assure you get this resolved in no time.

I can see that you were working with our phone support to help you connect your American Express (AMEX) account. Please know that we can acquire a connection between your AMEX account and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If it's your first time to connect AMEX to QBO, we can start the troubleshooting by running QuickBooks on a private or incognito browser. This way, no-cache data will be used when running the system. The cache may be causing this hurdle while authenticating the connection.

Here are the private/incognito browsing shortcut keys for the following applications:

  • Google Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari (Mac OS), press Command Shift N

Once done, let's connect your AMEX account to QBO. If the connection is acquired, I suggest clearing your regular browser's cache. This can help load new data from our server to your browser's cache and help boost the browser's performance. Alternatively, you can use another supported browser like Mozilla Firefox when working with QuickBooks.

In addition, if you acquired the connection lately, like months ago, yet QuickBooks stopped syncing online banking transactions, here's what to do. You can follow Step 3: Update your bank info in QuickBooks. It also includes specific fixes for bank errors.

Please tag me in your comment to get me notified of your updates. If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to place them below. I'll get back to help you. Take care, as always.

AMEX Not Compatible with QB

@Jovychris_A  incognito still did not work. I've already called support twice and each time troubleshooted with no success. They literally have no idea hiw or why it's not working and admitted it's a problem on QB end. What else can I do? I think at this point QB needs to get it together with the techs and figure the root cause right?
