Bank account won't sync

Let's get your bank account sync, Ben. Together, we'll sort this out quickly so you can continue managing your finances seamlessly.

For most banks, QuickBooks typically downloads transactions around 10 PM PT every night, although this can vary.

Have you had a chance to try a manual update? If not, let's go ahead and do that. This step will refresh and sync your bank data, ensuring you have access to the most recent transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Head to the Transactions menu, then Bank Transactions.
  2. Choose the bank tile and click the Update button.

Refer to this article for more information: Bank errors and missing transactions.

If the issue persists, I recommend checking your bank's website to ensure everything is functioning smoothly on their side. Occasionally, financial institutions go through maintenance or face server issues that can interrupt the connection needed for QuickBooks to sync.

Meanwhile, could you please provide the name of your financial institution? This will allow me to check for any reported issues related to it and assist you more effectively.

If you need to access your transactions immediately to proceed with your tasks, consider manually uploading them. However, this may result in duplicates once your connection is restored.

Moreover, if you want to gain a deeper understanding of transaction management and account reconciliation in QuickBooks, please refer to the following articles:

@BENSINGTIM

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser. If the same error persists, use MT Online or csv2qbo converter tool for the time being.

Thanks for circling back with more information, Ben. Let me help you tackle this error head-on and and get your bank account connected without further delay.

Before anything, to get an overview of the issue, The "400: Something unexpected happened" error can have several underlying causes that interrupt the syncing process between QuickBooks and your bank. These issues can stem from routine maintenance on either the QuickBooks server or your bank’s server, problems with your web browser, connectivity issues, or even the URL being incorrect. To check if this is a cache issue, follow these steps to clear your stored cache:

For iOS:

  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Tap Offload App.
  4. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

For Android:

  1. Go to Menu ☰, then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Tap Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Tap YES to confirm.

Following these steps should resolve your syncing issue. Additionally, if you need immediate access to your transactions to continue with your tasks, you can always manually upload them. Just keep in mind there might be some duplicates when the connection is restored, which can be easily managed.

Additionally, once everything is back on track, regularly categorizing your transactions can help maintain organized records and streamline your bookkeeping. It’s a good practice that can save you time and effort down the line.

Incognito mode worked.

Thanks for your help.

Any idea when we will have a save button on invoice editing,  again.

I have found a workaround for now. By editing the message on the invoice,  I get the save option.

Sorry,  I was referring to the mobile app. I already have a workaround. I was just wondering when the mobile app would be fixed.

Good job finding a workaround to display the Save button on your invoice, Bensing. I can assist you in troubleshooting to resolve the error and ensure the buttons are functional so you can navigate through the mobile app seamlessly.

We're unable to give you a specific timeline for fixing the issues with your mobile app. However, we can enhance its performance and verify if the cache led to the unusual behavior causing the disappearing button in the transaction. To do so, let's reset the app to restore it to the default state, as it plays the same role as clearing the cache in a web browser.

Follow these steps for an iOS device:

  1. Go to Menu ☰ and select Help & Feedback.
  2. Tap Refresh Data.
  3. Click Refresh to confirm.

For Android users, refer to this instruction:

  1. Go to Menu ☰ then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Press Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Click YES to confirm.

After that, check if the Save button appears on the Invoice entry. Otherwise, uninstall and reinstall the mobile app to get the most recent version.

Next, you'll want to create and send customer statements to remind them about upcoming deadlines and obtain your receivables on time.

Once settled, register your revenues in the system to monitor business finances: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I appreciate your continued patience with creating invoices on the go. You can post here anytime for further support in managing your sales or inquiring about other tasks. Rest assured that we'll be here to assist you.
