Our bank connection was broken and we had to reconnect it by adding the account again. Once we did that, it no longer pulls in our bank statements to automate some of the reconciliation. We now get a message when we go to reconcile that reads "We don't import statements for this account. You need to get it manually."
I tried asking the bank and they were no help. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a setting that I missed when re-adding the bank account connection? HELP!
Hey there, @jessiekai.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community for support. I'm happy to lend a hand with your bank connection.
So I can check into things from our back end, do you mind clarifying what bank you're using? This way I can see if we have any current investigation with your bank that may have caused this issue.
I appreciate that you took the time to give your bank a call. It helps us to determine the root cause of issues such as this one.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply, and look forward to chatting with you soon. Have a great day!
@jessiekai did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same issue.
Thanks for returning to the Community and getting involved with this thread, bowlesjo.
Some banks allow you to view your bank statements inside of QuickBooks. If your financial institution is on our supported banks list, you'll be able to use the View Bank Statements feature.
After connecting an account to online banking, select Enroll from your bank reconcile page to sign up. If a bank you're working with doesn't support the feature, you can rest assured that Intuit's working to make it more widely available.
Here's how to get bank statements:
Whether the feature is supported by a particular bank you work with or not, you can manually attach statements to reconciliations when pausing or finishing them:
I've also included a detailed resource about working with the View Bank Statements feature which may come in handy moving forward: Get bank statements directly from your bank when you reconcile
If there's any questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
Hello,
I have several clients with Bank of America checking and savings. Two do not have the "Get Statements" feature and would like to have it so they do not have to manually upload or send me the statements. Is that a setting that needs to be turned on? Other BOA clients have the option. So, I know the bank is supported.
Thanks!
Accessing bank statements is essential for effectively managing the reconciliation process, @Emaculate81. Let's work together to facilitate your client's experience and eliminate any associated hassle.
The option to view bank statements isn't a setting that needs to be turned on. Once you connect your bank account to QuickBooks, the feature will be automatically available.
On the other hand, Bank of America is one of the financial institutions that supports importing statements into QBO. Since you've mentioned that other clients can see the option but two cannot, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a browser-related problem. Regular browsers behave unexpectedly due to cached data, which interferes with QuickBooks functionality. Using incognito mode can help, as it bypasses any cached data.
These are the keyboard shortcuts:
If the option to access bank statements is available, let's return to your regular browser and clear its cache to restore functionality. If the issue persists, consider switching to a different supported browser.
