Bank statements and reconciliation

Our bank connection was broken and we had to reconnect it by adding the account again. Once we did that, it no longer pulls in our bank statements to automate some of the reconciliation. We now get a message when we go to reconcile that reads "We don't import statements for this account. You need to get it manually."

I tried asking the bank and they were no help. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a setting that I missed when re-adding the bank account connection? HELP!

Bank statements and reconciliation

Hey there, @jessiekai.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community for support. I'm happy to lend a hand with your bank connection.

So I can check into things from our back end, do you mind clarifying what bank you're using? This way I can see if we have any current investigation with your bank that may have caused this issue.

I appreciate that you took the time to give your bank a call. It helps us to determine the root cause of issues such as this one.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply, and look forward to chatting with you soon. Have a great day!

Bank statements and reconciliation

Thanks for returning to the Community and getting involved with this thread, bowlesjo.

Some banks allow you to view your bank statements inside of QuickBooks. If your financial institution is on our supported banks list, you'll be able to use the View Bank Statements feature.

After connecting an account to online banking, select Enroll from your bank reconcile page to sign up. If a bank you're working with doesn't support the feature, you can rest assured that Intuit's working to make it more widely available.

Here's how to get bank statements:

  1. In your left navigation bar, go to Transactions, then Reconcile.
  2. From the Account drop-down list, choose an account you want to reconcile.
  3. If you see a View statements option, you can get statements directly from your bank. Click View statements to review available documents. In the event you don't see this option, you'll need to manually get your statements from the financial institution.
  4. Select Start reconciling or Resume reconciling.

Whether the feature is supported by a particular bank you work with or not, you can manually attach statements to reconciliations when pausing or finishing them:

  1. As you finish reconciling an account, click Finish now.
  2. Select Attach statement to add your statement.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with the View Bank Statements feature which may come in handy moving forward: Get bank statements directly from your bank when you reconcile

If there's any questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
