Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

I'm using QB Desktop for Mac 2019. I haven't had any other issues connecting to banks to get my accounts set up. But, I recently switched to Chase. When trying to sign in to add them to Online Banking, I constantly get an error message that the password is incorrect. If I copy and paste that same password into a web browser, I can log into Chase.com fine, so the password is in fact correct. I've tried logging in with two different accounts and get the same result every time. Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

Glad to have you back here in the Community, @jtaylor1.

The error password is invalid occurs when Add password to Keychain is enabled during the initial Online Banking setup. QuickBooks attempts to use a previously saved password when it connects to Online Banking.

To fix this, you need to delete the previously saved password and re-launch Online Banking.

Let me guide you how:

  1. From your desktop, double-click the Macintosh HD icon.
  2. Go to Application then select Utilities.
  3. Tap on the Keychain Access.
  4. Search for your Online Banking password then select Delete.
  5. Close then reopen your company file.
  6. Go to Download transaction then select Download all.
  7. When you are given the option to enter your password, type your current passwordQuickBooks will connect to your bank and download transactions.

After that, you can now reset the Keychain Access password to save your current Chase password and connect with online banking successfully.

Here's how:

  1. On your desktop, double-click the Mac HD icon.
  2. Select the Application folder then choose Utilities.
  3. Open Keychain Access then select on  Edit.
  4. Tick on Change Password for Keychain login.
  5. Key in your current Keychain password in the top box.
  6. Enter your new password in the 2nd box and 3rd box.
  7. Hit on OK.

Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

Hi there! Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem. I'm still getting incorrect password errors. I've deleted the password (and all saved QB passwords) from the keychain. Reopened my company file, restarted QB, restarted my machine, and still getting the error. Any other ideas?

Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

Thanks for getting back to us, @jtaylor1.

Since you're still getting the same error messages after following the steps shared by my colleague above, I highly suggest contacting our Phone Support team. They're able to pull up your account using their screen-sharing (remote access) tool and investigate why you're unable to connect Chase to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps to fix this for you.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QBDT, go to the Help menu at the top to get to the QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us at the bottom to connect with our live support.

Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: Set up and use Online Banking (Mac).

Please let me know if you have any other issues or concerns by leaving a comment in this thread. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you. Have a great rest of the day!

Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

Chase bank no longer supports the Internet Explorer Browser.  Until Intuit switched to a more modern browser, you will not be able to use web services with Quickbooks.

Cannot connect to Chase to add my bank accounts

Hi Victor,

Thanks for the reply, but this isn't my issue. I'm not using a PC, and do not have Internet Explorer. This is solely an issue within the Quickbooks for Mac application.
