Yup - still QB blaming Chase & vice-versa - NO fix in all these months & the QB support people are totally useless.  Yet they make you pay almost $500 a year for a "subscription."

Isn't that the truth. If you to QBs online it works fyi, but you will be shelling out more money for it. My function is very limited and needing it for bookkeeping and payroll purposes and that's about it. When my bank feed quit working when I had desktop, I couldn't believe the blame game.

One option is to bypass the Banks Feeds feature completely and download OFX, QFX, or QBO files from your bank or credit card company's site and then use our OFX/QFX/QBO to IIF Converter to convert the files to IIF files, which you can then import directly into your bank or credit card register(s). That is an option. I as a business owner and I'm sure others feel this way too, we are spending plenty for qbs and it's subscription(s) (I'm on QBonline now) you expect it to be good and not have to jump through a lot of steps to do something so simple. The more steps in my opinion doesn't equal better. Although what you said is a solution. Entering in manually is a solution. 


As the consumer we want to spend the time on our business not entering a utility bill manually.

FAR too many steps to do what we used to be able to do with a couple of clicks - download bank/credit card transactions, add or match/reconcile in QB. I'm running a business, not looking for extra work as a bank clerk.

Yes, no solutions here either I'm just here to say that I will be spending the next year finding a replacement for Quickbooks because I am so mad about what they've done. They were built by small businesses and they making it extremely difficult for us to operate... they don't care. So I am going to find an alternative if it's the last thing I do!

After a month of trying to reconnect my Chase card to QB bank feeds, I tried again today and it's working now. No clue as to why, but someone either on QB's end or Chase's end must have fixed something. I didn't do anything different, just went through the process of adding bank feeds to my account, connecting the card, and then my transactions downloaded. Previously, I would go through the setup and it would say it was connected, but then no transactions would ever download. I knew nothing changed with Chase's permissions, despite what Intuit said, because I still have another card that syncs fine with a different QB account. It might not work for everyone, but maybe try setting it up again.

That's right. I tried over and over since I log in every day and POOF one day it started working again.... sort of. I have the Intuit Merchant Service subscription since it works in union with Intuit QB (this is what I was told and why I would never want to use my bank as my processor) .... only now, though the bank feeds themselves work correctly most of the time, the matching to Merchant Service deposits doesn't....even after I wait a few days to make sure they've actually deposited.  But warning.... if you are in the download and try to go back to MS to verify or try to download, all you'll get is a "sorry, MS isn't available right now.   You have to exit out of the Bank Feeds completely to get MS to be accessible...... All in all, I appreciate the program, but the fact that we pay for this service and at least purchased a license, it's seems reasonable that these kind of errors should be fixed quickly and not the run around we've all dealt with.

  1. Open your QuickBooks and head to the Help menu at the top to select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. This action will take you to the Have a question? window.

  4. Click the Continue button and log in to your Intuit account.
  5. If you don't have an account, select Create a new account.
  6. From there, select Continue and then Continue with my account to proceed.

This is how messed up Intuit/QuickBooks support is. The supposed "fix" posted for the Chase Bank Feed problem - which dates back to 2022 - is not possible to even try, because when I went to create a "New Company" in QB Pro 2024, it STOPPED on a early screen, not allowing me to continue OR fill in a "*Required" field.  See screen shot:

I appreciate you for reaching out to us here in the Community. I know how this unusual behavior affects your productivity, so let me help you fix the issue when creating a new company file.

You can perform basic troubleshooting to isolate and fix the problem regarding the required field. I suggest you start by updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Aside from improving the performance of the software, this process also fixes common and complicated errors automatically.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Update Now tab.
  3. Select the updates you want to include.
  4. Put a checkmark on the box beside Reset Update.
  5. Hit Get Updates
     
     

     

  6. Close and re-open QuickBooks.

 

Once updated, let's run the Verify Data and Verify Rebuild tools. These features in QuickBooks will help self-identify data issues within a company file and self-resolve them using Rebuild Data. 

 

To run Verify Data:

 

  1. Click the File tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Hover your cursor to Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.

 

Next, please run the Rebuild Data option through these steps:

 

  1. Click the File tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Hover your cursor to Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Rebuild.

 

After following the solutions above, please restart your QuickBooks and try creating a company again.

QB was up to date. No errors on Verify. Minor error on Rebuild. SAME EXACT ISSUE CREATING NEW COMPANY FOR "TEST" OF CHASE.  I have no idea what part of Tool Hub could possibly fix this.

BTW - More than a year ago many people on this thread (and others) were told QB/Intuit was "investigating" the Chase issue as INV-79805 and we should "sign up" for notifications of this "investigation" to be told when all was "fixed." Never heard anything from anybody and CHASED BAN FEEDS ARE STILL BROKEN.

 

With QB Pro Plus Desktop now costing more than $500 a year, it's CRIMINAL that the program will not function as it has previously - and supposed still does - and so-called "support" is completely useless. Guess they want us all to use the online version which costs twice as much and doesn't include some features/functions of the desktop version.

Since you are experiencing the same issue, I suggest reaching out to our phone support team so we can create an investigation about this matter.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Type in a few words to describe the issue you experienced.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose how you'll want to contact us.

 

As for the notification about an investigation, once you've contacted us to be added as one of the affected users of an investigation, our engineers will send you an email about the status of the said issue.

If you'll look back on the history of this thread, you'll see that more than a year ago I spoke with "Help" multiple times for many hours and there was absolutely no resolution to any problem. The phone people could only repeat the same scripted responses and suggest the same steps I'd already tried to resolve the underlying Chase Bank Feed issue. I never got to anyone who might actually understand the problem.

 

So, no, I will not be contacting "Help" by phone or chart or email, I've reduced my wasted time by just checking the community board to see if at long last there's a real working fix posted here. Seems not.

 

As for being contacted after a new "investigation" is created - I was never given a workable result of the so-called investigation established last year for the Chase Bank Feed problem, so why would I believe creating a new "investigation" would be any different.

 

You want to help me?  Get me someone a couple of levels UP in support that I can contact directly or they can reach out to me.  That'll be real help.

Can qbs please help the person and the other people having trouble?

 

 That person is completely frustrated with qbs as I was too when it wasn’t working. It’s disappointing the issue isn’t resolved as I had the issue but then went online. I would have been desktop though if it was working. My overhead for this service went up, which if there as more options out there, a switch would have been made by me.

 

 We don’t have time to be on the phone for hours and hours.

billwch if you are trying to get better pricing for online see what your cpa can get it for or call around. Mine is cheaper than if you go to the website as doing this method.

I deeply understand how everyone feels about the QuickBooks Desktop connection with Chase Bank, @SB1234. Rest assured, we're taking this case seriously and will provide solutions to everyone as soon as possible. I'd still recommend contacting QuickBooks Desktop support again so they can help you identify the cause of the problem and get updates on the solution. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Describe the issue you experienced.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Start a chat or get a callback.

 

Once everything is good, you may consider creating rules to categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop to help you automatically categorize them into different accounts.

New day, same answer, to a problem that started in September October of 2022 and no real solution has ever been posted.

 

Meanwhile, over at Quicken, which I use for my personal accounts, absolutely no problem with Chase  bank feeds. So the problem is clearly Quickbooks.

Like I wrote before, I have it working through QBs Online. 

 

What every user that has looked at this post, went through this experience, called Qbs, called Chase, etc. 

Is thinking, QBs is that the best you have? Put it onto the user to figure out the problem? It's your software.

 

It's disappointing that QBs doesn't have the resolution by now. If there is a resolution besides calling into Qbs post it for that gentleman that is having difficulty @BillWCH  and anyone else that may have that trouble in the future and currently. Or call him to set up a time. 

 

Us the users need (PAY) QBs for the software to work and we depend on Qbs like we do with employees and other support staff. Some business only have a few employees. In my business we have 2 including myself. My time is worth treating patients not calling QBs and Chase for hours and chasing my tail with no end in sight. I thought this issue would have been resolved months ago. 

 

Help the users rave on your software not be frustrated.
