I'm trying to connect to my online bank account, and it keeps returning a 102 or 103 error. The bank is OceanFirst Bank.
After typing in my username and password, then going through a Recaptcha security process, it returns the following error:
Looks like the connection to OceanFirst Bank isn’t available right now.
Try again in a few hours. (102)
When I purposely enter the incorrect password, it returns a 103 error that the login info is wrong (or something like that). When I put in the correct password, it returns the 102 error above, so obviously some kind of communication is going on.
This account has worked fine for a couple of years. As of the past number of days, I cannot update the account information at all. It keeps telling me to "Update your OceanFirst Bank sign-in info.
I have contacted OceanFirst. They reset my password, and then changed my password with no success.
I have tried the "desktop" Quickbooks app, as well as going directly to the Quickbooks website and attempted to update the banking information there. Neither option worked.
All of my other account connections work fine (Discover, Capital One, Wells Fargo, etc). Is there any known issue with OceanFirst Bank?
Thanks for the detailed information about your concern. Let me help you get pass this error so you can connect your bank
At the moment, we haven't received similar cases about connection errors with Ocean First Bank. Normally, this banking error 102 will automatically be fixed within 24 hours from the time it started to occur. While the banking error 103 occurs when your banking credentials in QBO don’t match with your financial institution.
Both errors can be fixed by manually update your bank account to refresh the connection between the Ocean First Bank and QuickBooks.
From the left menu, select Banking.
On the Banking page, select Update.
If you still can’t connect, please wait 2 or 3 hours and try again.
Have have tried multiple times to update the account, over multiple days.
When I contacted Intuit directly, they say that there is an issue connecting to the OceanFirst account, and I have to wait for a solution (which they have no time frame for).
One thing is different today when I tried. I did actually connect to it when Editing my sign-in info. Then when I performed an update, it still gave me an error. However, it briefly gave me a new error which was "324". This error apparently relates to if I changed my account number or name or something like that, which I did none of.
I suppose I still just have to wait if/when Intuit decides to fix this issue with OceanFirst. If they can't resolve it in a timely manor, I guess I can't use their product anymore. I don't know what other solution there is to simply connect to my checking account.
I'd be glad to help share additional information about the OceanFirst Bank Error 102.
Yes, as of now, our engineering team is currently working with your bank for an immediate fix about the banking error 102 with OceanFirst. On the other hand, banking error 324 means that QuickBooks Online (QBO) can't find the account on your Financial's Institution's (FI) or bank's website which may be caused by any of the following:
Your FI reclassified the account or moved it to a new server
Your account nickname changed
Your FI issued a new account number or credit card
