Join nowLet's verify what causes the locations to not sync on a private window, jgowrie.
It is where we can identify any browser-related concerns. I've added these keyboard shortcuts to open one:
If it works, you can go back to a regular browser and clear the cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some browser-traffic concerns.
You can also switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
You can also browse this article on how to manage locations: Create and manage favorite locations in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I'm just around to help you with anything. Have a good one!
The shortcut for MS Edge is actually CTRL SHIFT N. I kept opening a print window :)
I was able to open a private window.
I closed that and then deleted my browser history ( completely )
Rebooted Edge and went back to my QB Self Employed account.
Still not seeing location names on the website as they appear within the iOS app.
Was I supposed to do something else within that private window or did you just want to know if I could open a private window?
To be clear... my trips are showing up on the website. What is not showing up is the name I have assigned to a favorite address. Like my shop location... also a clients address I give a favorite name that matches the client. It's this info which is not showing up at all on the website.
Thanks for getting back to us, @jgowrie.
I appreciate you for sharing detailed information about your concern. Allow me to chime and share additional information so you're able to see the names on the websites.
You'll have to log in to your account using the private window and create the name once again. You can use the supported browsers shared by my colleague above.
Once done, creating the name using the device, log in to your account using the website, and verify if the names are already sync. For more details, you can refer to this article: Create and manage favorite locations in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
However, if the issue persists, I would suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. Their tools can further check why the names don't sync in the websites and help you resolve it.
Here's how to contact them:
For additional information, you can click this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. This provides details on how you can contact QBSE support using iOS and Android phones.

Please let me know how it goes or if I can be of additional assistance. I'll be here should you have any follow-up questions. Have a great rest of the day!
I'll probably call them tomorrow. I'm still a little confused.
So I logged out of my account from the normal browser window.
I opened a private window in MS Edge and logged into my account.
But I now need to go in and name the locations using the private window or the iOS app? I have already named a few dozen locations using the iOS application.
So on my device here is an example of what I see for a days trip log -
Here are the same two trips as seen on the website ( normal not private window )
so are you saying I need to go to the private window, log into my SE account and then name the locations there? Thus this will override the iOS app settings but it will get my location labels in sync.
Thank you for getting back to us and providing us with more details of the concern you're having, @jgowrie.
The information from the mobile application and on the web should sync immediately. If not, then I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team. They can check your account in a secure environment and verify why the data from the web and app is not syncing.

So I just spoke with Ann from Intuit... She was nice enough but I don't know if she really gave me any answers. According to her, because the mobile and browser version both run on different platforms, these address names I assigned to my favorite locations WILL NOT sync and display.
So... what give here? I just spent 30m on the phone with her supplying her all the info she wanted and honestly... it sounded like she really had no clue what was wrong and the easy way out was to just tell me syncing of favorite names does not work but she would put it in as a feature request.
Hello, jgowrie.
The QuickBooks mobile app is always in sync with your QuickBooks Self-Employed account when you access it via the website. I know that you've already contacted our support, I would still recommend reaching out to us again to verify why entries on your mobile app aren't syncing on the web.
They can run a remote-viewing session that can determine the root cause of this matter. To contact support, please click the link: Contact QBSE Support.
