We want to make sure you're able to delete your Intuit account with us. If you're referring to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, we will not automatically delete your data.
You can process a cancellation, and the system will let you access your data through the end of your billing period.
To process a cancellation, follow the steps below:

It's the PARENT account I want to delete. The INTUIT account -- not Mint, not QuickBooks, not TurboTax. I have already requested and had deleted my MINT account. There are no products inside my INTUIT account.
I do not wish to wait a year for the INTUIT (parent) account to be deleted. It contains no data, no transactions. I wish to delete it now. I was told to contact "reps." No idea who they are or where they are.
Please help.
Hi ggp-,
I understand that you're concerned about your account information.
Our representatives are bound by the rules of Intuit in terms of protecting our clients' data. In addition, they have the tools to check accounts that's why JenD suggests contacting them to request the removal of your account. I'd also let you do the same thing.
This article will give you some insights about removing your data: Security and Support Safety.
Let me know if you have other questions in mind.
Answer the question already! We want to DELETE the INTUIT ACCOUNT. How do we do that?
One more time: How do we DELETE the INTUIT account?
Not just the data in the account. Not just linked whatever junk. HOW DO WE DELETE THE ENTIRE ACCOUNT?
Thanks for providing detailed information with your concern, PDei23.
I'd like to reiterate what Jen_D answered about canceling your Intuit account, know that we keep your account for 1 year just in case you want to come back. However, account and data will delete after a year.
In case you decide to renew your QuickBooks Self- Employed (QBSE) subscription, keep this article for reference: Resubscribe to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Post a reply below if you have other questions about deleting of your QBSE account. I'll be sure to get back to you
I just typed a whole message, and then the system demanded I provide a name even though I'm signed in, and it erased my whole message. So now I'm pissed and frustrated. Here's the scoop:
- My security clearly is not a priority for Intuit, so I want to close my account and delete all my information. (If you want information about my experience, you can call me; I'm not sitting on hold all day for this.)
- I have no client information to retain and no reason to keep my data sitting around in your servers for a year. My personal financial information is there, and someone is trying to get into my account who isn't me. I want it gone.
Please let me know how to make this happen without wasting my time, doing a hard sell on keeping me around, or asking me to call a number to sit on hold. If I don't get a better answer than the people above got, I'll just get a court order.
I also wish to have my account deleted. I have no products nor subscriptions.
"we keep your account for 1 year just in case you want to come back"
I will never, ever "come back" with the account I want to delete. I acknowledge this risk. So, just delete it when your customer asks.
"Our representatives are bound by the rules of Intuit in terms of protecting our clients' data."
Well, you are also bound by the rules of LAW. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) requires you to effectively delete my account upon request. You, therefore, have a method of doing this, and you can offer that service to all customers.
Please advise how I can get my Intuit account deleted.
Thanks for joining in on this thread, Web Developer.
I want to share some additional steps to help you remove the data. But before that, I'd like to verify a few details. When you say you have no products nor subscriptions, do you have still have access to the account? If so, you can follow these steps:
For reference, you can check out this article: Access and manage your personal data from the One Intuit Account Manager.
Otherwise, open this link to see the steps on how you can reset your account: Reset or change your login information for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and Qui...
If the option to delete the data is unavailable, you'll want to reach out to our Customer Care Team. They have all the necessary tools to further assist you, and may be able to delete the account completely.
Please take note that our support hours is available from M-F 6 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT.
You're always welcome to post a reply on this thread if you have any additional questions regarding the steps I've shared or other concerns. Me and my colleagues are here to help. Take care and stay safe!
I want my Intuit account cancelled
Hey there, Pote_2021.
I hate to hear you need to cancel your Intuit account, but also understand sometimes these things happen.
So I can give you the best set of steps, which Intuit program are you currently using that you'd like to cancel? If you're using QuickBooks Online, here's how to get this done:
1. Open a web browser on your computer, not a mobile device.
2. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin user.
3. Select Settings ⚙ and then Account and settings.
4. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
Note: if you don't see the Billing and Subscription tab, then you bought QuickBooks through a mobile app store. See the steps for your device below.
5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're canceling a trial, select Cancel trial.
The following article provides additional info about the cancelation process: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription
Please know I'm only a comment or post away if you have any other questions. Take care!
