How do I get the transaction date to default to today's date?

I have QB 2015 for Mac (v16.0.5). I've read the posts that say to check the "Use current date as default" box in Preferences/Transactions. Done that. Doesn't work. I've tried putting a "t" in the date box. Doesn't work. I've manually backed-up the program in hopes it'll correct itself. Doesn't work. The date always reverts back to some previous date. Please help!

How do I get the transaction date to default to today's date?

I believe Intuit is working on this issue, in the 2016 year version at least. For now close and relaunch QB daily and use quickbooks>quickbooks feedback and submit a bug report.

Are you on the latest version? It is fixed I believe.  Run QuickBOoks->Check For Updates.

It works as expected for me, so yes the fix did the trick.

Version 16.0.5 is not the latest version that runs on Yosemite. Are you on Yosemite?  If you are on El Capitan or better you can download a newer version that likely has the fix.

10/10/17 - I can tell you that as of today it's half fixed.  For days I log on to updated reports with the current date then all of a sudden out of nowhere the old dates stay and it needs updated. This lasts a few days.  Yes, I know I'm crazy.

Oh and I use Enterprise Solutions 16.0.  And as far as intuit requests and feedback.....I have been complaining about an issue for years. There is about 2500 requests for this one issue and it's still ignored. So intuit feedback is a joke.

car.keys you are commenting on a QuickBooks Mac thread but are discussing a different product (Enterprise Solutions).  You should ask in the QuickBooks Windows section.

I can't get it to change the default date for statements either.  I'm using Mojave and am up to date on the software updates.  Wish QB would realize some of us are not going to leave our MACs and that they would make their QB program more MAC friendly!  QB online doesn't work well enough for our company either.  I tried it two different times and never felt confident enough with it.
