How do I import my transactions to Quickbooks Simple Start from Quickbooks Self Employed?

I have QB Self Employed and just purchased Simple Start. Unfortunately all my transactions don't automatically import. I have downloaded the transactions from the QBSE but now I don't know where to upload them within QB Simple Start. Help please.

Great choice! Let me show you how to import your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) transactions to your new QuickBooks Online (QBO) Simple Start.

 

Since you already downloaded your transactions from your QBSE account, here's how to import them to QBO:

 

  1. Log into your QBO account.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top right and select Import Data.
  3. Choose Bank Data.
  4. In the Get your info from your bank section, tick Browse.
  5. Locate the CSV file you downloaded, then hit Open and Next.
  6. From the QuickBooks Account ▼ drop-down menu, choose the account you want to move the transactions into.
  7. Click Next.
  8. If you don't have any accounts yet, here's how to create new ones.
  9. Match the statement fields from the CSV with the ones in QuickBooks Online. Then Next.
  10. Select the transactions you want to move to QBO, then Next.
  11. Hit Yes, and Let’s go.

Once completed, go to the Banking menu at the left pane, then select Banking. Follow the steps to review and categorize your transactions.

You can create a list of old invoices and import the file to create them in batch. I'll show you how.

 

Firstly, the following links below are sample files you can use to create the CSV file showing a list of your invoices:

 

 

Once done, follow the steps below to import and create your invoices all at once:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Import Data.
  3. Select Invoices.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Find and open the CSV file of your invoices.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Click Import.
