How do I set the bank (HSBC.net - USA) details to be automatically updated to QB online. Currently I have manually update the bank details

Interruptions between your bank's website and QuickBooks Online's connection can cause the Banking page not to download the bank transactions automatically. Here are the possible interruptions that I can think of:

  • Unstable internet connection
  • Your bank has a website maintenance
  • Your bank added a security function that requires your attention
  • Too much cache on your browser
  • Our server has a scheduled maintenance

Let's ensure that you have a stable internet connection. After that, I'd recommend reaching out to your bank's support. They can verify if they have an ongoing maintenance or have added new security features. From there, we can start with the manual update to bring the missing transactions to QBO.

If you're still doing the manual update after those steps above, we can do the browser troubleshooting to get rid of any cache related issue. Though cache accelerates the background process, it can also cause unexpected results. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open a private browser and log in to your account. It uses but doesn't store cache.
  2. If the Banking page updates automatically, we can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache.
  3. You can also use other supported browsers as alternative. Each of them uses different cache.
