You've got my back, @Leo6263.

I'm here to help you today so you can reconcile your account and transactions accordingly. Since your bank was already disconnected from online banking, it stays active but QuickBooks stops downloading new transactions. Also, the system deletes any transactions that still need to be reviewed in the For Review tab. If there are entries you want to add, you can do it manually or by importing an Excel CSV file through a WebConnect process.

For your detailed reference, check out the instructions provided from these links:

To upload a file, go to the Banking page and select Upload from file under the Link account drop-down.

Once done, you're now ready to reconcile your account. To learn more about the process, feel free to read the details from these articles:

By the time you want to close your books and lock your past transactions. You may skim through the details from here as your guide: Close your books QuickBooks Online.

I'll be right here to continue helping if you need additional assistance. Just leave a comment below. Happy weekend!

Hello thank you for the response. Unfortunately we no longer have access to the business bank account. My husband and decided to close it, but we do have copies of our bank statements from the last couple of months that our business was active. Im having an issue getting it to reconcile to 0.

Thanks for getting back to us, @Leo6263.

Since you don't have access to your bank account, we can manually reconcile it in QuickBooks Online (QBO). We can also use a copy of your bank statements to compare the transactions in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Start the first transaction on your bank statement.
  2. Find it in the Reconciliation window in QuickBooks.
  3. Compare the two transactions. If they match, put a checkmark next to the amount in QuickBooks.
  4. If the amount or payee doesn't match what's on your bank statement, select the transaction in QuickBooks to expand the view.
  5. Select Edit to open the form and then edit it so that QuickBooks matches your statement.
  6. Compare each transaction on your statement with what's in QuickBooks.
  7. When you reach the end, the difference between your statement and QuickBooks should be $0.00.
  8. Select Finish now and then Done.

However, if the difference isn't zero or you can't find transactions that should be in QuickBooks. We can review the opening and beginning balance. Here's the link: Fix issues when you're reconciling accounts in QBO.

Hi there, Leo6263.

I'd be glad to provide some info in regards to getting assistance with reconciling in the future.

The first, and possibly the best, option to consider is an accountant. Accountants have the experience and knowledge to help you with the breakdown of each transaction, and which debit and credit goes where. If you don't have an accountant already, I recommend you consider speaking with a ProAdvisor. ProAdvisors are accountants specifically trained in the workflows of QuickBooks. You can find one in your area by visiting the ProAdvisor site

If you'd like to get help from the QuickBooks Online Support Team, this article provides the steps to get in touch with them. Agents have specialized tools, like screen-sharing, to work alongside you to help out with the reconcile.

Last but not least, you're always welcome here in the Community. I, other members of the QuickBooks Team, and Community members are available to help as well. Don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions.
