Old Credit Card account [CLOSED] , not updating new account

Using QBSE and had my Chase credit card account closed for fraud and reissued a new card/number.  QBSE shows old account as [CLOSED} but will not update new card transactions even though the bank connector window shows the new account connected. Also, the box for updating new account information is checked. Additionally, it will not let me manually update transactions because it says these transactions have already been recorded.

 

I've tried chat and disconnected. I've tried call back and the person couldn't understand my issue (and english).

Any help greatly appreciated. thnx

I'll ensure that your most recent transactions are in your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, enzo73.

 

Since the old credit card account was closed but not disconnected due to fraud, the older transactions may have already been downloaded. As a result, when you set up a new connection using the reissued credit card, you were prompted to confirm that these transactions had been recorded.

 

Let's check the Transactions page to see if there are new transactions. You can use the filters, including the date, to validate the data.

 

If it wasn't there or the bank feeds didn't sync, use the Refresh All button to recover missing new entries.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Bank Account.
  3. Click Refresh All.

 

You can hide transactions from your old credit card account if you no longer want to see them. This prevents QuickBooks from downloading new transactions and allows you to keep all existing data:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Select the profile ⚙ icon and then Bank Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to hide.
  4. In the Show Account section, hit the radio button to toggle to OFF.

 

If everything is fine and transactions are still not updating, you can manually add them by importing them into QuickBooks Self-Employed. Check out this article for a complete guide: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Sorry but this is very frustrating.  This does not solve the problem.  MY credit card account window still only shows the [CLOSED] account.  It shows a balance of -$11,000 which doesn't mach anything. My transaction data is only in QBSE up until April this year.  When I try to reconnect to CHASE bank, the new card number is not even available.  Can I recieve advanced assistance on this issue?  Impossible to run my business this way.....

I would feel the same way if something isn't working that could impact my daily productivity, @enzo73.

 

Since the issue persists after refreshing your bank feeds, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed support care and have advanced assistance. They have the tools to check your account and can provide additional fixes. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In your QBSE account, click the Assistant menu.
  2. Type in Talk to a human.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Select I still need a human.
  5. Choose to Get a callback.

Hi - Did you resolve this issue?  I am having the same exact issue and it is not able to connect to the new credit card that was reissued after the fraud on the other card.  When I log in to my bank connection everything looks fine and it says the account is connected.  When I try to refresh the connection it says

 

Current Account: "It looks like Chase Bank (....xxxx) stopped syncing with QuickBooks. We didn't find a new account to connect."

New Account: No account found

 

This is really infuriating since most of my expenses are via this credit card and if I cannot pull them in directly from the account this app is effectively useless.

Hi there, I understand how important to be able to download your expense transactions the soonest. I'll present handy information and troubleshooting steps to help you rectify this problem.

 

There are times when a browser's cache becomes full of frequent access to web pages and site data causing errors in QuickBooks Self-employed. To better isolate this issue, let's manually refresh your connection through a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't utilize the existing internet files and cookies. 

 

Here are the shortcut keys:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

 

These are the steps to restore the feed:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts under Transactions.
  3. Click Refresh all.

If that works, go back to your main browser and then clear its cache to get rid of the accumulated site data. You may also use other supported web browsers as an alternative solution.
