I just installed Pro 2019. When I tried to print my bank reconciliations, the screen goes gray and will not print the reconciliation. Can you help?

After spending 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Tech Support they found a simple solution. The "What's New" under "Help" was checked. Unchecking "What's New" solved the problem. I did not ask why it was still checked or why it only came up during the reconciliation printing, just was glad the problem was fixed.
Let's fix your freezing QuickBooks, Angela.
There could be some program components that were not properly installed during installation. You can run the QuickBooks Print and PDF Repair Tool to fix them. You can refer to this article: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop. Then, go to the Solution 1 section.
Feel free to share some news after you do the steps in the article.
The people that reconcile our bank statements started getting this printing problem after an update to my 2018 version months ago. I downloaded the fix tool and ran it but nothing changed, they are still getting the frozen screen. They were printing the reconciliation reports find before the update and I did not change their security. I am the Quickbooks administrator and the reports print fine for me.
Hi lonnie1,
We can update your Adobe Reader to the latest version so you can print the reconciliation report without issues. Let me walk you through how.
Otherwise, you can change the display PDF in your browser's preferences. Here's how:

Maria, I checked to make sure I have the current version of Adobe and I do. I also had one of the people that is having the problem go into "Reports", "previous reconciliation" to print the reconciliation reports. It works fine that way. It just appears to me that the problem is with the What's New screen popping up and freezing the screen. They don't seem to be having any issues printing PDFs except in the instance when they are prining directly after the reconciliation.

I appreciate you for providing us detailed information you've done on your end, @lonnie1.
To sort this out, let's create a sample company file and print your bank reconciliation from there. Let me guide you how.
Creating a sample company file help us check if this is a data issue within a company file.
In your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account:
Here's an article you can check for more information and detailed steps: Create a QuickBooks Desktop Company File.
If you're able to print your bank reconciliation in the sample company file, then we'll have to run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools to resolve minor data problems within a company file. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Resolve Data Damage on Your Company File.
However, if the issue persists while using a sample company file, I suggest running a clean install. A clean install fixes issues that keeps you from opening your company file and a few other situations.

I had a sample company file that I had never used. I created a profile exactly like one of the two people that are having this issue. I logged into the sample file using this new profile. I get the same results. It freezes the screen when I click on “print”. I then pressed the “ESC” key to unfreeze the screen, went into reports and selected “previous reconciliation” and printed the reports with this same profile. I then tried another reconciliation but this time instead of clicking on “print” I clicked on “display”. It brought the reconciliation report in display mode (same as when going into reports and clicking on “previous reconciliation”, then display) and was able to print the report. It seems that the issue is clicking on print when doing the reconciliation. I am attaching a PDF of the access that the user normanm has in both the sample file and the live file. Again, I have no problem in the live environment when I use my profile which has Admin type of authority.

Thanks again!
Thank you! Your solution worked for me also!
I have also figured out that if after you press print reconciliation, then click on preview when the print screen comes up and then click on print on the preview screen page and it works like a charm. No more freezing up.
I found if you press on the print reconciliation and then the print screen pops u; and if you then click on preview and click the print button on the preview screen, it then prints.
