QBO Won't Signin with NavyFederal Credit Union

NFCU did a patch on June 16, 2023 which allowed Navy Federal Credit Union to transfer data to my QB accounts. I last pulled data into my QB accounts on July 10, 2023. I can't pull data today July 18, 2023. Does anyone know if Navy Federal Credit Union is doing another patch to fix this issue?

I know this hurdle is taking longer to resolve than anticipated, @pjames and @Burkee6.

I believe NFCU is still working on a patch since we are partnering with your NFCU bank, @Burkee6, to identify the cause to provide a solution. If you haven't contacted us yet, I recommend reaching our Care Support team's phone and chat representatives now so we can provide updates regarding the status of this issue via email. They have the appropriate tools to pull up your account to attach it to the investigation.

For refund concerns, we're unable to guarantee that we can approve any of it, @pjames. You'll want to submit a request again or directly contact our Care Support team to ensure you're taken care of:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon.
  2. On the Search tab, click Contact Us.
  3. You can type Navy Federal Credit Union - 106 error.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. You can choose to Chat with us or Have us call you.

In the meantime, you'll want to upload online banking transactions manually to QuickBooks Online, ensuring to match, add, and categorize transactions on time.

Thank you for your continued patience regarding this issue. Please continue to comment here if you need a hand recording of transactions and other QuickBooks concerns. We're always here to share info and provide solutions. Take care always.

Today I was able to connect my Navy Fed transactions to Quickbooks automatically, for the first time since it went down again. But it also transferred all the transactions I had manually uploaded so now I get to clean up all that mess.

I'm able to authenticate to my NFCU business account after entering the code received via text, it then appears to sync, however no transactions are ever imported. I used to have to sync/import multiple times and eventually they would show up. I've now tried 20 times in a row, and no transactions.

Moving from NFCU is not an option. They've been my bank for 35 years. Is there another options like QBO that anyone is using that doesn't have this problem with NFCU?

This has been an issue since day 1. The syncing/import has always been hit/miss. It's frustrating to say the least. I need to reconcile my books which are 2 weeks out of date, and I can't get my transactions pulled in.

This is the latest from chat support:

I just got off the chat with our back-end team and I got a confirmation that we have an ongoing investigation about INV-88186. Our system engineers are already aware of this outage/issue and we're working on fixing the said issue as soon as possible. The last update I got from them is that this has been put in their priority list and they are getting a good progress in this issue. I'll be closing the case that I created but that doesn't mean that the escalation would stop. In fact, the closing the case would only mean that your account has been successfully linked to the investigation and an update will be sent out to you once this issue is totally fixed. I'll keep an eye on the escalation, and we'll definitely get back to you once there is an update.

LionOfJudah, I have to authenticate at least twice to get the transactions to download.  I understand!

As a work around, logging in to your NFCU account and downloading a QBO file for each sub-account (e.g., checking, saving, etc.) is the fallback that I use.  You can have it automatically download all entries since the last QBO was downloaded using this method or you can enter a start and end date for the download (limited to a 90 day range).  Then double-click the downloaded QBO file and choose which QB account for the entries to go into (e.g., checking or savings or other).  For example, if you have both checking and saving, you will need to do 2 QBO downloads and 2 double-click steps.

It will be nicer when the QB internal bank feeds are working correctly.

Time to bring this back AGAIN!!!   What's going on QBO?  This is ridiculous.  Every couple of months your software fails us.

For the last 4 days, I can't connect to Navy Federal with any of my accounts.   Same error as Feb, May, July and now Sept.

Something’s not working

Hi mblitz,

I understand how frustrating it can be to experience the same error repeatedly with your bank connection. I got information about it.

We've created a new ticket for error 106 with Navy Federal Credit Union on QuickBooks. While our Online Banking team investigates this issue, we recommend manually uploading your transactions so that you can continue working on them.

I also recommend reaching out to our QBO Support team tomorrow between 6 AM and 6 PM. This will allow them to gather your account information in a secure environment and add it to the ticket for immediate updates.

Please don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you have more questions in mind. Take care and have a good one.

Same issue here, this is almost 5 months now of not being able to consistently download transactions from my bank.

Quickbooks Rep - PLEASE do not give another scripted response telling me how frustrating this must be, and how to manually download my transactions.

Hello there, @cosloan.

It's still a problem. Here it is September, and I can't import my transactions again. Yes, you can download a CSV file from NFCU and then import, however, when the sync does start working it creates duplicate transactions. It's a nightmare for my bookkeeping.

Whatever the issue is, it's recurring, and it's intermittent. Things will work for a few weeks, and then BOOM, it stops working.

This is absolutely frustrating/infuriating. Either fix this problem or I'm going to another accounting solution.

It's end of day on Wednesday (9/27).   This has not worked since 9/20.   Chat is no help.   Can anyone at QBO give us an update on what the issue is and why we are not able to sync to our bank accounts?   It's a known ongoing issue that NEEDS to be fixed permanently.

The fact that Quickbooks is not connecting to our Navy Federal bank accounts is not "unexpected behavior." It has happened so often since last May that it has come to be expected.

I would say that this issue is extremely frustrating, impacts my ability to run my business, receives insulting responses from moderators, has been going on and off for months and has me looking at other options.... but all of this has been said repeatedly on this site with no adequate resolution.

So frustrating.  My connection worked for awhile.  Now I don't receive an error message, but nothing downloads.  Bank balance is accurate, so there is a connection.

Okay, after trying 3 times, I got one of the 3 accounts to download.  Of course the main checking account, which has the most transactions, still won't download.

The beauty of QBO used to be convenience and ease of doing accounting.  Now it is completely inconvenient and frustrating.  Please, moderators, don't tell us one more time how to manually download transactions.  We are completely aware of how to do that.

Hello sritter,

I know how banking issues affect productivity and time in categorizing transactions. Allow me to chime in and share some updates about this unexpected behavior.

Our Product Engineers received similar reports from other users experiencing the same behavior with the Navy Federal Bank with QuickBooks Online. At this moment, we have no specific timeframe for the complete fix. Rest assured, the engineers are doing their best to fix and prevent this from happening again.

For now, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They can add your company to the list of affected users. This way, we can ensure you're in the loop about the investigation's status and the fix.

Our support for Plus, Essentials, Simple Start is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday). For Advanced, any time, any day. Let me guide you how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

Aside from linking a bank account to download data automatically, you can get transactions from your bank or credit cards and manually import them into QuickBooks. For future reference, I'm adding this article, which you can use as additional guidance on the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Your patience is much appreciated while our engineers are working on the resolution of this error. Know we're always available if you have more questions about QuickBooks Banking. Take care.

Well this is extremely aggravating.   Connection was back up for a month and won't work again.   QBO PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!

And please do not give me some canned response on how to manually download and upload my transactions.  Look at the thread before you give me the BOT response.

Welcome back to the thread, mblitz. I understand how essential it is to have a smooth bank connection with QuickBooks Online. Please be aware that the error 106 you encountered has still been identified as an ongoing issue. Allow me to direct you to the appropriate support team to assist you further in this situation.

For now, my colleague and I usually suggest manually uploading your transactions to QBO. This is to ensure that you'll be able to record your updated data so you can organize your income and expenses on the program.

Then, once you already contacted our support team and a ticket has been raised, rest assured that you're now added to the list of affected users. You'll receive updates through email once the issue is resolved. You can also send or reply to them using the existing email to check for the status of this matter. Also, you may reach out to our support again if you need more details about the case.

In case you need steps on how you can review downloaded entries by matching or adding them to QBO, you can open this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have other bank connection questions or any QuickBooks concerns. I'll be around for you, mblitz. Take care always!

This is not a good suggestion at all. And here's why. I did this once. And what happens is when QBO does finally sync, it creates duplicates. It's a Pain. How about permanently fixing the problem that has been ongoing for a couple of years now.

cosloan

QBO Won't Signin with NavyFederal Credit Union

Downloading the transactions manually is not the solution to this issue. As others have mentioned, once the issue gets resolved (temporarily) it then creates duplicates of the transactions which causes further errors. This is why it is essential that this issue get fixed permanently instead of randomly working and not working from week to week. There is so much room for error in our bookkeeping during this time.

I am also dealing with the same bank error 106. since the beginning of the new year, and the account has been in place for 3 years, I have I have talked to 2 different reps from QB and they could not give me any information on how to get this resolved. I called my bank (Navy Federal) and they said the issue is not on their end. QBO can we get this fixed we can see that this is an ongoing issue per this thread. See thread below.  Please do not post any troubleshooting task as I have tried they don't work. See if there is some type of firewall blocking Navy Federal. Thanks
