Bank Feeds

I have QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022.  I have made 3 ACH Direct deposit payments for the same amount and 2 of them have cleared my checking account so they are "Partially-recognized".  I can select the 2 transactions I want them with, but my only choices are to "Ignore" them and to "View" them.  I see no way to manually match them beyond what I have done.

Hello there, BillK3.

I'll ensure you can get through this and proceed to match your transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

There may be some minor data issues with your company file that's why you're having problems matching your transactions. Try running the Rebuild and Verify Utility tool to fix possible data damage on your company file.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open your company file again.
  2. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities and choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK in the QuickBooks Information window.
  4. Wait until the repair is done. Then, click OK.
  5. Then, go back to the File menu, select Utilities, and choose Verify Data.
  6. Click OK if QuickBooks doesn't find any problems. Or Rebuild Now if it finds issues with your company file.

If you still get the same issue, let's try running the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix common issues:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Select Company File Issues.
  3. Click Quick Fix my File.
  4. Choose OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks.

I'm adding this article for more troubleshooting steps if the error persists after trying the resolution I provided above: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

I am having this issue too and no this has nothing to do with anyone else changing transactions as it was suggested by quickbooks.

The issue started with the recent change to Back Feeds that has affect Chase accounts and others. Just when I  thought QB couldn't get any dumber, apparently now it cannot distinguish a $5 transaction to Uber from a $5 transaction to a parking company, all with different dates.

I tried switching back to Express Mode to import/enter transactions and although it will match to the correct transaction, it creates an additional issue. I can match & add the transactions, but then it comes right back and now can't match it again. Resulting in a partially matched transaction in the advanced mode. Can't win!

So they remain partially recognized with no option to match to the correct transactions.

FIX IT QB, or provide real tech support, not canned answers that have nothing to do with the issue.

Hello, slavetoq-b.

Thanks for joining this conversation. Allow me to chime in and help ensure this is taken care of for you.

If you already tried the steps shared by my colleague above, and the issue persists, I highly suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check the cause of this odd behavior. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps if necessary.

Here's how to reach them:

  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
  5. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Thank you for informing us of the problem you're experiencing matching transactions, Gennit.

The investigation about the Partially-recognized tab of the bank feed preventing the user from taking any action on any transaction item has been closed. Allow me to provide troubleshooting steps to fix this issue.

If you've performed verifying and rebuilding company file data to fix data issues in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and the issue persists, I'd recommend switching to Express Mode to match transactions.

  1. In your QBDT, go to Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Choose Checking, then go to the Company Preferences.
  4. In the Bank Feeds section, select Express Mode.
    a. Express mode uses the Transactions List window to add or match transactions.
  5. Select OK.

When this doesn't resolve the problem, I recommend adjusting your Windows resolution to a higher pixel count to show more data on the screen. Kindly refer to this guide for the detailed steps: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

To be prepared to close out your current year and prepare for the new year in QuickBooks with your accountant, let me add this article as a guide: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to update us if the problem of matching transactions in QBDT persists on your end. Stay safe.
