Did you receive any error message? If so, here's an article that provides a list of online banking errors and the steps on how to fix them: Fix online banking errors in QuickBooks Online.
I would also appreciate if you can tell us what specific bank you're using so we can determine and check if there is an ongoing issue with the bank.
In the meantime, let's do a manual update to refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks Online.
Here's how:
You can leave a comment below to add more details of your concern. Keep me posted on how it goes or if you have additional questions as I'm here to assist.
I have the same issue. It imports all bank transactions except for a span of 2 months and 5 days. It's incredibly annoying. I've clicked Update now multiple times but it doesn't do it. Did you find out what was the issue?
I appreciate you trying some steps to get this issue sorted out, starnroanise.
An interrupted connection between QuickBooks and your bank is usually causing this issue. Since you’re still unable to get these transactions, I’d recommend uploading them manually through CSV. This involves logging in to your bank, downloading the transactions from there and saving it in your desktop.
For the detailed steps, please check this out: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
It would be best as well if you’ll provide us your bank name so we can check if there’s an ongoing issue. Stay around if you need anything else.
Hello. I have had the same issue where several months of transactions are missing. I can't get them to pull from the bank account. I downloaded the csv and imported it. It uploaded and I went through each transaction to confirm the information and still the same time period will not show as expenses. They disappear after I confirm them all. Any suggestions? It is too many to enter one at a time.
I can help you look for those imported transactions, @amh838.
After you match or add downloaded transactions, they're recorded into QuickBooks. You can go to the bank account's Categorized or Reviewed tab to look for those transactions.
Here's how:
You can check this article for more information: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Here's also an article to know more of what you can do if you don’t see your recently downloaded bank transactions in QBO: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Wow. Thank you so much. Yes they are there. I realized that they are not showing in expenses because they were registered as deposits. I have no idea how that happened or how to mass change. I am tempted to erase the entire database and reimport everything from scratch.
I am having the same issue with Suntrust and AMEX credit card. They imported through my other company just fine but can't get them to import the new company. Why is this?
I'll make sure that you get your latest bank transactions, Tats_on_Tats_on_Tats.
If you've noticed that QuickBooks no longer automatically download new transactions, you can manually update your bank to get the latest ones available. Here's how to do it:
If you're still to see your transactions, you can try downloading them in an incognito or private window. There are times that the accumulated cache in the browser interrupts the connection between your bank and QBO. Here are the shortcut keys:
If you're now able to get them, close the private window and then go back to his regular browser. Then, clear its cache to delete the stored junk files. Alternatively, you can switch to other supported web browsers to further isolate the issue.
For additional tips while working with your banking transactions in the future, you can browse a topic from this link: Find help with bank feeds and reconciling accounts.
I'm just a post away if you have any other concerns or further questions. Have a great rest of the day.
I am having the same problem. Eight months of bank transactions did not import from US Bank. I have tried Updating several times, manually downloading the transactions from my bank (QB won't accept them because it tells me it is already automatically connected). I do not want to manually add 8 months worth of transactions!
Thanks for joining in the thread, minnice.
I understand that it's quite time-consuming to manually add transactions in QuickBooks Online. As I've checked, we haven't received any similar issue about this. QuickBooks should allow you to import your downloaded bank transactions even if your bank is connected.
Can you share the full name of your financial institution so that we can double-check it? Any information you provide will help us in determining the best course of action for resolving your issue.
In the meantime, you can try opening your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using an incognito window. You can use the shortcut keys provided by my colleague above. Alternatively, you can use a different supported browser to further isolate this.
Also, please ensure that your CSV files have the correct format if you already downloaded transactions from your bank. See this article for more details: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks. Then, you can follow the steps to manually import your transaction in QBO: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Once everything is in order, you can visit this resource so you'll have a guide to ensure your transactions are put in the correct accounts: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Feel welcome to get back on this thread if you'll need further assistance with bank feeds. We're always here to help you.
Utilize MT Online as a workaround for the time being. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

I'm not sure I know what you mean when you say you've checked and you haven't received any issues likes this but this situation is a problem. I've been importing transactions from multiple sources (banks, credit cards, etc) and the process of uploading through quickbooks online is very unreliable. Every month I have some account transactions missing on import. Could you guys make this a priority to resolve? What I think you are missing is the fact that every time information is missing on upload the end consumer has to reconcile the account manually to figure out which of the current months transactions are missing so that we can manually upload them. This is a problem.
Hi - I have a client who's bank transactions imported for one day, then stopped for a few weeks, then started importing again on 10/03/22, then stopped on 11/28/22. Selecting "update" on the banking page does not help.
Would it be best for my client to completely disconnect from the bank, then reconnect again? Is there a better option? The bank is M&T.
Thank you.
Thanks for letting us know about your banking concerns with M&T, @Laura VAR.

Im having the same issue with my AMEX gold card. Only the last few transactions from September 2022 onward have imported and nothing else. Ive tried disconnecting my bank (credit card) and reconnecting, as well as refreshing and updating multiple times. I clearly requested everything from 01/01/2022 to be imported but there seems to be an issue and i cant figure it out. Im hesitant to start entering things manually or through CSV as I don't want to turn this into a bigger mess as this has happened n the past. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve?
You can use csv2qbo converter tool

Let me assist you and direct you to the appropriate channel that can address your banking concern on time, Neekoy.
The first time you connect your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO) it automatically downloads the maximum number of entries. Depending on the Financial Institution (FI) they can give you up to a year of historical data. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions.
Since the data we receive is dependent upon what your bank sends to us. I still recommend contacting American Express to assist you in bringing the transactions into QBO (01/01/2022). This way, you'll no longer have to manually enter them. Otherwise, you'll have to import the entries via CSV.
Regarding your online banking connection, I recommend contacting our QBO Care Team. One of our agents will conduct extensive troubleshooting steps to determine why only a few entries were imported into the online program. Reaching out to them ensures that your bank feeds continue to function normally and that complete transactions are downloaded.
Once you have your bank data added to QBO, make sure to assign it to the correct account to keep your records accurate and easy to reconcile. I've included some articles with solutions for missing downloaded entries and online banking errors:
If you need more information about a specific accounting task or assistance in resolving issues in QBO, you can use our online resources. You'll be able to access our online tutorials as well as articles about payroll, taxes, banking, cash flow management, inventory, and other topics from there.
Reach out to me again if you have additional questions about banking or other product-related concerns. I'm always ready to answer them for you, Neekoy.
I love how they act like this never happens. I am missing deposits to my bank account from April through August. But no, it's not quickbooks! Never their problem. What the hell am I even paying for if I need to manually fix this huge mess?
Bank Feeds not working- starting 2023 QB's is not connecting with my bank BOA.
Is BOA no longer intergraded with QB's?
Thanks for letting us know about your banking connectivity issue, @ec80. I'm here to ensure that you'll be able to connect your Bank of America account with QuickBooks Online.
Before we start, did you receive any error message when connecting Bank of America in your QuickBooks Online (QBO)? Any additional information would help us provide the best resolution based on the error received
In the meantime, let's start with running a manual update to refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks. Here's how:
This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. The number of transactions in each account tile will increase if QuickBooks downloads new transactions.
If the issue persists after running the manual update, please check out these articles for more troubleshooting steps:
Also, it'd be best if you could provide the exact error message you received so I can give you an additional resolution.
Please let me know if you need more assistance managing your bank transactions. Take care, and have a productive day.
I have QB's desktop - Can't find the bookkeeping tab.
Hello there, @ec80.
Let's go to the Bank Feeds window to do a manual update of your bank account in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and download your transactions accordingly.
The same goes with the online version of QuickBooks, doing a manual update on your accounts will refresh your bank feed connection in QBDT. To do this, here's how:
Once your transactions are downloaded, you'll have to review and categorize them to keep your financial data accurate.
Also, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts in QBDT regularly (every month). This helps monitor your income and expense transactions and detect possible errors accordingly. You may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in doing and fixing reconciliations in QBDT: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.
I'm all ears if you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBDT. You can drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care always, @ec80.
Had similar issue , realised for importing the bank cannot be a sub account, would hep if QB error told you that was the error. Stopped that bank being a sub account ..and it imported
That's interesting. I'll try that for now but I just got the first charge of 200.00 for a monthly QBO fee and honestly this system is just not worth it so I'm looking for another alternative.
