Does anyone know how I upload a file from my computer to quickbooks online? It is a file from my payroll company that I need to upload to Quickbooks online. I am new.

I'm here to share information about importing or uploading files in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, the option to import/upload payroll files is unavailable in QBO. Some payroll services let you import paycheck data directly into QuickBooks. If your service doesn't have this feature, you can manually track these payments as journal entries or look for one of our supported apps. This keeps your payroll and account data all in one place. 

You can also complete your payroll setup through the prior payroll process. This will ensure that everything is accurate for year-to-date (YTD) totals on your employees’ pay stubs.

Ask your payroll company what types of transactions they provide on file. You will need to use an additional app to import Journal Entry.

We recently moved from desktop QB2010 to QB online.

Previously we were able to import our payroll (journal entries) from our payroll service to our QB desktop.

We do not see where we can do that with the online.  Are we missing something?

Welcome to the Community! What I recommend is to find a third-party app to import their journal entries. We have this website that lists all the programs that integrate with us. You can even see the reviews and ratings to see which one would be best for you: apps.intuit.com.
