For the last couple months whenever I try to edit a bank transaction that has a large # of lines, it freezes or times out. Whenver it does open, it will freeze after clicking "save." This did not ever happen prior to July. These are transactions automatically categorized using the Ebay connector app and it breaks it down by matching each transaction in the payment period into the correct chart of accounts for sales, fees, etc. It doesn't happen with transactions with only a few lines, only on the ones with several hundred lines. The Ebay connector app classifies shipping charges as "Ebay sales" and I need to edit those lines in the payout to "shipping costs", but I have not been able to do this for the last couple months. I already did the usual steps- cleared cache, updates, restarts, incongnito, tried multiple PC's, multiple browsers etc and nothing fixed it. When I did a chat and shared my screen with a Quickbooks agent, it froze so bad that is caused the whole browser to stop working and they couldn't us the chat anymore and just ended it. I assume it is a bug from the last big update in July/August, but I have been waiting and it is not getting better.
Hello, baitinator. I understand the challenges this may cause you, as accuracy and control over your financial records are crucial when managing your banking transactions.
I also commend you for performing the steps to get this issue fixed. You can modify the transactions through the Chart of accounts as a workaround. This approach allows for flexibility and can help you maintain accurate records.
Here's how:

The same thing happens when I access it through "chart of accounts." It happens when I try to edit any split transaction deposit with a large # of categorized lines. Any other split transaction with 3 or 4 lines opens fine, but any of them with several hundred lines won't open. It seems like the system can't handle it and it continues to freeze, time out, or give an error. This was not a problem prior to a month or two ago and they always opened fine.
Thanks for getting back to the thread and following the suggestions above, @baitinator.

Still have not had this issue resolved. Even tried the QBO app and it follows the same behavior on the app. I can't be the only person having this issue unless other large Ebay sellers don't use the connector app. It used to work fine until around August.

I just had the exactly same issue after spending 1.5h, arond 10 lines, entering data on a split transaction. I don't even have a third-party app for QB to blame for. I did it all manually and once I clicked on " Apply and accept ", It threw a non sense erro message " Something's not quite right Please enter a valid amount for all the lines with a category " and frozen the screen. Notice, all the lines do have a valid amount
Thanks for joining the thread, coastcars. I understand the urgency of the matter. Let me help you sort this problem out and get you back on track.
We can perform basic troubleshooting on your account to check as to why this is happening. First, let's review if this is a browser-related issue. Let's start by opening your account in a private browser as it ignores historical data.
These are the keyboard shortcuts:
If the error is fixed after this, then the issue is likely caused by your browser. You'll want to clear your regular browser cache. Another option is to use other supported browsers.
If the issue still occurs after performing the troubleshooting, you'll want to contact our support team to have your account checked and get this behavior investigated further. Here's how to contact them:

I never did get the original issue resolved, but I recently found the below info about apps in quickbooks, but I cannot find a spot in the settings to change the sync options on the Ebay connector app. Can anyone direct me to where this setting is?
Issues with connections to app transactions
If you connect an app with a high volume of daily transactions, QuickBooks Online may freeze. To fix or prevent this from happening, you must change the sync options in the app to allow it to bring over a daily summary instead of individual transactions.
Was this helpful?
Hello there, @baitinator.
I am here to share some information about your bank transactions and syncing your eBay Connector to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To prevent unexpected behaviors in QuickBooks Online when connecting an app with a high volume of daily transactions, you can consider adjusting the sync options in the app to bring over a daily summary instead of individual transactions. This can help streamline the syncing process and avoid performance issues.
If you're unsure where to locate that setting, I suggest reaching out to the developer of the app. You can find their number or email from the Contact section of the app profile in the Apps menu.
Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in categorizing bank transactions in QBO: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Return to this post if you have other concerns about syncing yout eBay app and bank transactions in QBO. I'll be here to lend a hand.
Hi @FaithA . Thank you for getting back to me. I managed to get the split transaction with multiple lines( manually entered, no third party app, ) entered without QB getting frozen by opening a incognito tab on my Brave browser.
Thank you.
