Getting an orange i error when updating from US Bank.

I am getting an error symbol with each account that downloads from US Bank. Anyone have an idea of what to do about this?

Have you tried opening your QBO account on private/incognito browser?

I just tried that and it did the exact same thing.

Utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank.

Good to see you here again, Service.

The orange exclamation point shown in the bank account means that QuickBooks is unable to connect to your bank's website due to maintenance or security update. And with this, QuickBooks is unable to retrieve transactions from your bank.

You can visit your bank's website first to check if there are ongoing maintenance or alerts that you need to take action. Then in QuickBooks, we can perform a few possible ways to fix this. First, manually update the card by clicking the Update button. This will help refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. o to the Banking tab.
  2. Select the bank account and click Update.
  3. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update.

Second, your password needs to be changed. Many banks require you to change your password every so often for security purposes. To do this, go to the Banking Center, click on the pencil icon at the top right of the account tile. Then, click Edit sign-in info.

However, if your bank downloads the transaction just fine but you're still seeing the error symbol, you can try clearing your browser's cache. There are times stored cache files cause unusual responses within QuickBooks Online. You can also use a different supported browser as an alternate solution.

Meantime, you'll want to manually add your bank transactions into QuickBooks. Once the transactions download from your bank feeds, you can exclude them just to avoid duplicates.

Let me know how this goes and if there’s anything else you need. I’ll be around to help. Wishing you the best!

This is an ongoing issue that is not resolved. I have cleared the cache, and tried incognito, nothing makes any difference. Please note that QBO is connecting to the bank and is importing transactions from the bank accurately, there is no problem with that, no password update is necessary. If the password was out of date, QBO wouldn't download the transactions.

I have three accounts that are synced with QBO. Normally there is a note on each account square that there are a certain number of transactions that have been downloaded and have to be matched. That "i" error is where the number would be. Just guessing, but I wonder if this is the issue, that QBO can't count the number of downloaded transactions for some reason.

Just curious how long I will need to deal with this before Intuit takes my issue seriously and finds a solution. I have had numerous telephone contacts, promises to escalate, promises to get back to me, and nothing is improving. Really, you have just one job to do, and you aren't doing it. Intuit has no problem trying to sell extra services, but seems to fail with servicing the ones that customers have already purchased.

Hello, Service.

I'd like to dig a little bit deeper on the issue and help you resolve the "i" error code.

Can you provide a screenshot about the error code? That way, I'll be able to check and see what's going on with the bank connection.

Also, can you try and do the manual Update to your bank transactions for three to five times as pointed by my colleague? I'd like to check if this just a regular sync issue or not.

Lastly, have you received any notifications from US Bank about sync issues to third party services?

I'd appreciate if you could provide more details about this.

I have three accounts that I sync. The attached picture is one of them. I just updated three times, and got errors on all three accounts all three times. I have not heard any issues from my bank but I can contact them to check.

I've got the next steps you need to help take care of your banking concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Service.

I appreciate the update you've provided above. Since the Community is a public forum, and we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your account and banking details, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team. Aside from reaching out to your bank (US Bank), our support can also further investigate the cause of the error and guide you with a fix. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Click the Contact Us button.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect with us. Make sure to initiate contact during support hours

Once connected and your most recent transactions are downloaded, all you have to do is review and match them to the existing entries in QBO. This way, you can keep your account updated. For the step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I'd recommend reconciling your US Bank account every month. This way, you can monitor your transactions and detect any possible errors accordingly. You can learn more about this process by checking out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to comment below on how it goes. Let me know if you have other banking concerns and managing business transactions in QBO. Keep safe always, @Service.

Just wanted to give you an update that this is not resolved yet. I need to call customer service again. Is there any way I can talk to someone in the USA?

Let me help with your Online Banking concerns, Service.

Thanks for always keeping us updated as well. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the account in QBO? It's one of the steps that we recommend when there's an error in Online Banking. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Banking menu and proceed to the Banking tab.
  2. Click the account that's showing the error. Then, click the Pencil icon in the right-hand side of it.
  3. Select Edit account info.
  4. Check the box for Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Click Save and close.

Once done, add the account again and check if that would remove the error. You can refer to this article for additonal details: Disconnect or Delete Accounts Connected to Online Banking.

You can also check out this article for additional troubleshooting steps: What To Do if You Get a Bank Error or Can't Download Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Aside from that, you can reach out to our chat or phone support team for QuickBooks Online USA. You just need to follow the steps that were provided by Rea_M. Let me also share this article to get their contact details: QuickBooks Online Support.

Lastly, let me share a couple more articles that you can use as a guide and reference when working in QBO:

Hi Service,

I am having the same issue as you did. I am just wondering how you had it fixed?

It seems Customer service doesn't understand that it is not the importing transactions or connecting to the bank issue. The bank balance and QB balance match but the error (Orange i) is still there.

Thank you,

Oksy

Let me chime in on this thread to help you fix the orange alert appearing in your bank account tile in QuickBooks Online (QBO) so you can resume business as usual.

The orange exclamation point shown in the account tile indicates that QBO was unable to retrieve transactions from your bank. It's possible that the downloads seem stuck or your bank's website is undergoing maintenance.

First, let's initiate a manual download by clicking the Update button on the Banking page.

You may also perform browser troubleshooting steps to resolve some banking issues. In some cases, it could be a temporary problem with the window you're currently using. That said, log in to your account using incognito. See these keyboard shortcuts for easy access:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

If you see a bank error message, refer to Step 4: Fix specific bank errors in this article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, QBO sends your bank transactions to the For Review tab so you may assign them to the proper accounts. You only need to review and approve them.

Keep in touch whenever you have clarifications regarding fixing bank issues in QBO. The Community is open anytime to lend you a hand. Stay safe and have a nice day ahead!
