How do I correct a reconciled bank statement

I'll walk you through how to correct your reconciled account, @kreiderinvestiga.

If you reconciled a transaction by mistake, you can undo or remove the transaction by changing its reconciliation status from the register. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account holding the transaction. Then, select View register
  4. Look for the transaction you want to unreconcile to expand the view.
  5. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  6. Tick the checkbox. This changes the letter in the box. Keep ticking it until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  7. Click Save. Then, close the account register.

See this article for details: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

If you need to undo the reconciliation, you'll want to check with your accountant so they can undo the entire reconciliation. Only QuickBooks Online for Accountant have this feature. Check this guide: Undo a client’s reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

I'm also adding this link here for additional reference: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to let me know if you have follow-up questions or concerns with your reconciliation process. I'll be around to help. Have a good one.

How do I correct a reconciled bank statement

Hey, can you give more information on what the error was? Was it an incorrect amount? Should it not have been there at all? I too have a reconciliation problem posted here and looking for a fix. Maybe if we help each other we can get these problems solved. QB's support will post their canned messages that sometimes help but not always like i my case and maybe yours.

So, what's the exact problem now?
