I need help on an urgent problem:
Is there a way to clean up/delete all bank feeds/pending transactions and (re) import all transactions from Webconnect QBO files?
A Bank Account got deactivated for Bank Feed and I'm not able to activate it nor able to import a WebConnect file... On Edit Account dialog - Bank Feed Settings tab shows 6000 pending transactions from two years ago, Deactivate Online Services is checked and Activate Online Services is not checked.
How I reached here:
- I had 3 accounts in my Bank Feed ("A", "B", "C") with pending transactions and wanted to import fresh transactions via WebConnect. However, when I tried to import a WebConnect QBO file, these three accounts would not come up in the Select Bank Account dialog...
- So, I cleared all transactions in one of the accounts ("A") and selected deactivate online service for the account, as I recalled what I had done last year. This cleared all accounts from the Bank Feed.
- Then, Account A was visible when I tried to import the QBO file and I was able to import it into Account A. This properly imported transactions for Account A and somehow restored B but Account C is not visible in the Bank Feed...
Is there a way to clean up/delete all bank feeds/pending transactions and (re) import all transactions from Webconnect QBO files?
Thank you for your help!
Hi DRVC , thank you for posting in quickbooks community.
To delete your transaction:
But, if you want to delete in batch you could see this article batch delete transaction . To import it, you need to download qbo file first then import it.
you could see this article about how to Import with web connect .
Glad to assist you.
Thank you for your prompt response, gayatriluthfias20 with detailed instructions!
The issue with this account which I would like to delete transactions from is not visible in Bank Feeds Center...
The transactions number is shown when I access Edit Account dialog from Charts of Accounts for that bank account... May be they are not pending transactions but the total from the last import for which all transactions were processed.
Thus this bank account is not visible in Bank Feeds, and the account doesn't come up in the existing accounts list when importing webconnect file, and the "Activate Online Services" checkbox on the Edit Account dialog can not be checked on.
If this account can be made to come up as an existing account into which I can import its webconnect file, that will be ideal... If not, I was hoping that there was a way to cleanup/delete all feeds and pending transactions and be able to import webconnect files into these existing accounts.
Good Afternoon, @DRVC.
Thanks for reaching back out to the QuickBooks Community. Your bank account has to be connected in order to import the web connect files. Once you have downloaded and saved the files, then you can import the transactions so they'll show in your bank feeds. Here's how:
Here's an article that can provide some additional details: Import web connect files.

Thank you, Candice, for your prompt response.
In Step 4, the account is not showing up in the existing accounts list.
I understand accounts already on Bank Feeds Center don't show up in the import menu if they have open transactions. In this case, this account is not showing up on Bank Feeds Center; earlier it had open transactions and disappeared when I deactivated the online feed for another account for which I had cleared all transactions.
So how do I import from a qbo webconnect file into an account that is not showing up in the existing account list in the import dialog? Or, how do I make an account show up as an existing account for import or is there's a way to start afresh with the accounts/imports?
BTW, when I back up QB Company file, I got the following errors:
3 of the following for each of my 3 accounts which were in Bank Feeds at that time:
Error: Verify Online Account Information: Invalid bank account number --> Record = 120. |
and 9 of the following:
Bank Feeds :DecryptData : Decryption of OLB data failed |
Could this be fixed by restoring from a back up?
Thank you for your help. BTW, when I click on
Thanks for adding more details about the issue, DRVC.
I appreciate you for following the steps shared by my colleagues. Since you continue to get the same result, we'll have to perform in-depth troubleshooting. The procedure requires collecting personal data to access your account.
Here in the Community, I'm unable to perform this task for security reasons. I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. They have tools to help identify what keeps the account not to show in the Bank Feeds Center. Also, our specialists will assist in importing the entries into QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Here are some articles that cover all information about the Bank Feeds features and instructions on how to move past import issues.

Thank you, Rasa-LilaM.
As you suggested, after I closed the real company file and opened a sample company file, QB Desktop Premier doe not let me import Web Connect files and also doesn't allow setting up of Bank Feeds - because this is a sample company. It indicates that Web Connect or Bank Feed functionality is available only for real company files, not for sample.
Other suggestion?
I understand it can get frustrating going through multiple troubleshooting steps and not having any of them work can be a real pain, DRVC.
Banking related concerns usually require troubleshooting steps that need to be performed more than one attempt. I appreciate you for performing the recommended solutions provided by my colleagues.
Yes, you are right, the option to import Web Connect files into QuickBooks when opening a sample company file is unavailable. This gives you a warning message and advises you to open a real one.
Instead of downloading your Web Connect file inside QuickBooks, let's do it directly from your bank. Let me show you how:
Just in case you'll encounter some import issues, check out the Fix Web Connect import errors to troubleshoot the problem.
If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. Here's how to reach them:

I greatly appreciate everyone who tried to help me. My problems became worse as QuickBooks Desktop started crashing if I tried to deactivate one of the feeds even though it had not transactions pending.
The following article as of great help to me and I was able to clean up all my bank feeds by Solution 4 mentioned here: Deactivate, create new, merge then reactivate:
With the above, all my feeds worked flawlessly.
Thank you again for everyone's help!
