I can't add my Venmo Credit Card

Hello - I can't seem to add my venmo credit card (issued by Synchrony Bank) to quickbooks to track transactions made there. Can you please confirm how I can do this asap?

I can't add my Venmo Credit Card

Thanks for reaching out to the Community space, nadera.

I'm happy to lend a hand with regard to adding your Venmo Credit Card.

To verify, did you encounter an error message or code when trying to connect the account? If so, please add the details in your reply below. In the meantime, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to investigate if this is caused by a browser-related issue.

Let's start by opening your QuickBooks Online account in a private browser or incognito. This mode will not save your browsing history and prevent errors. You can use the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Next, go to Transactions or Banking and click the Link accounts button to connect your Venmo Credit Card. If you can connect without any problems, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Finally, close and re-open your browser to refresh the settings. Alternatively, try using a different supported browser

You also have the option to manually download a CSV file of your transactions from your bank and manually import the data in QuickBooks. Here's a link for the instructions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

After importing the data, you can start categorizing and matching them. In case you're able to connect the account and see some duplicate transactions, you can exclude them by following the steps here.

Please keep me posted on how things go after trying out the steps above. I'll be right here to assist you again. Take care and stay safe.

I can't add my Venmo Credit Card

Hello - thanks for your quick reply. The problem is NOT that I get an error adding my credit card, the issue is that QuickBooks doesn't support an option to connect with Synchrony Financial (Venmo) from your 'Link Accounts' section. So there is no way for me to connect that card whatsoever. I could do a CSV upload but prefer to link the account because then I won't have to CSV upload constantly going forward. Is linking possible for this credit card? https://venmo.com/about/creditcard/

@nadera

Utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank or connection.

I can't add my Venmo Credit Card

Hello there, ehmgroup. I'd like to provide helpful guidance on integrating a Venmo card with QuickBooks for seamless connection.

When setting up a Venmo account in QuickBooks, please note that it only supports personal accounts. If you need to connect a business account, consider contacting your financial institution to request a connection with QBO.

If you encounter any error messages during the connection process, please let me know the specific error message. This will help me provide tailored assistance and solutions to your concerns.

For now, you can manually upload your bank transactions into your QuickBooks account. Begin by logging in to your bank's website and following the instructions on how to download the transactions.

Here's how to upload the file:

  1. Select Banking from the sidebar menu, then go to the Banking tab.
  2. Choose Upload from file from the Link account drop-down arrow.
  3. Hit Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank.
  4. Select the file then hit Open.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Next.
  6. When you’re ready, select Let's Go.
