I switched banks from bank A to bank B. I changed electronic info, didn't know had to change where it goes to register. So, cks came out of B but posted in A. How fix?

If i click the edit button, it goes to screen to edit, but there is no way to edit the bank information...so now all payroll checks/direct deposits look like they are in bank A but were taken out of bank B... Please help me get it to correct bank register.

Hi there, @flyingdc.

There are ways to edit your bank information in QuickBooks. Let me share them with you to get this resolved.

If you're referring to the bank account where you get your payroll expenses, you can update it from the Payroll Settings. Let me guide you on how to get there.

  1. Go to the Gear icon. Then, click Payroll Settings.
  2. Then, the Accounting link under Preferences.
  3. In the Bank Account drop-down, choose the correct bank account.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom and then tick OK.

If it's a payroll subscription's bank account, you can edit the account from the billing section. Here's how to do it.

  1. At the upper right corner of your account, click Gear. Then, choose Account and Settings.
  2. Select Billing & Subscription and then edit the bank account info under your payroll subscription.
  3. Press Done.

For more information about connecting your bank account in QuickBooks Online, you can check this article: Connect

bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you should have any questions about this or anything else about QuickBooks. I'm here to help you out. Have a good day and keep safe.

Hi

The problem is not what you suggest... the payroll was accidentally put in Bank A when I need it to go into Bank B... SO,for a previous transaction i need to move direct deposits and 1 check into Bank B from Bank A but I can't... when i try to edit... there is no option as with a normal check or expense to switch banks.

Please help!!!

thanks

Hello, @David.

I can see a duplicate post about the same concern. I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague, @MirriamM in this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/payroll-posted-to-wrong-acc....
