Is anyone having problems with their account connecting to their bank account ?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @vringrose-gmail-. I'm here to ensure that you'll be able to connect your bank to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

May I know the specific bank you're having problems with? Any additional information about this as well as if there are error messages encountered is a great help so I can provide you with the exact solution.

Also, there are banks that require additional steps before you can connect your QBSE account. These steps are unique for each bank. You'll want to reach out to them to help you with establishing the connection.

If this is not the case, we can do basic troubleshooting steps so you can connect your bank to QBSE. Let's begin with accessing your QBSE account using an incognito browser. This doesn't store cache or browser history that sometimes causes issues when running the program.

Below are the shortcut keys you can use to open a private mode depending on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

When signed in, let's connect your bank to QBSE again. If this works, you'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will help remove damaged or corrupted files and will give you a clean slate. If not, you might need to use another supported browser as alternatives.

You may also want to manually upload your bank transactions to QBSE. This process is easy as long as your transactions are in CSV file format.

Once transactions are in, you'll have to categorize them to ensure they are assigned to the correct line of your Schedule C.

Stay in touch with me if there's anything else you need to connect your bank to QBSE. You can always leave a reply below and add additional information so I can assist you further. Have a good one.

Another option, utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online and QBSE, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank.

Hi there, @Maria0105. I'm here to ensure you'll get your bank transactions in QuickBooks.

Once you connect your bank or credit card account to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) it will only download 30 to 90 days of transactions. You'll want to import transactions that have not yet been downloaded to your QBSE account. To do this, you'll need to export the transactions going back to 11/5 from your bank and import them into QBSE. Let me guide you how:

  1. Sign in to your QBSE account and select Settings.
  2. Choose the Imports button.
  3. Click Import older transactions for the account you want to add transactions to.
  4. Select Browse and look for the file you downloaded from your bank.
  5. Click the file and select Open to start the import.
  6. Then, review the column headers and data. Ensure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks.
  7. Next, select Continue to complete the import.

To give you more information about the importing process, feel free to check out this link: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Once transactions are in, you'll have to categorize them to ensure they are assigned to the correct line of your Schedule C.

Stay in touch with me if there's anything else you need about importing your transactions to QBSE. I got your back. Have a good one.
