Is there a way to add transactions that my bank won't upload past 90 days. Other than manual?

@earthenescapes

You can download transactions from your bank: CSV, QFX, QBO, or OFX format only.

And Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files to QuickBooks Online.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for posting, @earthenescapes.

At this time, you can add those past 90 days' worth of transactions through the WebConnect process. You’ll have to manually download the transactions from the bank. Then, upload the file to your account.

Download bank transactions:

  1. Go to your online banking account to get your file.
  2. Check or follow your bank’s instructions to get a copy of the data and then save on your computer.
  3. Ensure that the data range is at least one day before your oldest transaction to avoid duplicates.
  4. Please take note of the supported file format and size. It should be either a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) or a QuickBooks Online (QBO) file.
  5. Download your transactions and save the file to your desktop.

To upload the file to your QuickBooks account:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and select the bank where you’re uploading the transactions from the Banking tab.
  2. Click the Update drop-down and select File upload.
  3. On the window that appears, click the Browse button and choose the file that you’ll be downloading.
  4. Click on Open, then Next.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions. Match the columns on the file with the banking fields in QuickBooks, then select Next.
  6. Click on Let's go. QuickBooks will now add the transactions to your account.

Check this article for more information: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. From here, you can now categorize  and then reconcile the transactions.

My problem is that my bank doesn't keep my transactions past 90 days. So it's not even in their system. However, I do have access to my bank statements in pdf form. Is there way to work with that?

Thanks for getting back and providing clarification about your bank transactions, @earthenescapes.

Currently, QuickBooks can only support CSV or Webconnect.

Since you have the PDF form for those past transactions, you can convert them instead using an app converter. You can search for an available converter or you can attempt to copy and paste it to Excel and save it as CSV.

Reach out to me again if you have further questions or clarifications. I'm here to help. Take care and have a good one.

There are plenty of third-party application that can covert it, earthenescapes.

Thou, we can't recommend what specific app you should use, you'll want to visit our QuickBooks App Center. This way, you can find the best converter that suits your business needs.

You can also follow the steps below in searching the app:

  1. Login to qbo.intuit.com
  2. Select Apps from the sidebar menu.
  3. Enter a keyword or hit the Find the right app button to filter the results.

Once your done in converting the file, you can follow the steps above provided by colleague MaryjoyD in uploading it.  Then, we can now start categorizing your bank transactions.

I'm hoping that you'll the best converter. Please let me know if there’s anything else that we can help with and have a great rest of your day!
