Is there not-for-profit version available for QB Online?

Hi @frank11 :

Here is a link to it.  But you may also want to try www.techsoup.org for special pricing for non-profits.

It's functionally identical. There are some terminology differences which some find confusing , Eg, an invoice is called a pledge, a P&L is called a Statement of Activity, yet it shows Gross Profit

Good day, @frank11,

Thanks for visiting us today. I want to make sure you're able to set up a Non-Profit account in Quickbooks.

In addition to Lynda and Malcolm's answer, you have the option to configure your QuickBooks Online account to a Non-profit organization.

There's just a few changes you'll need to do so you can set up your business type. Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign up for a QBO account.
  2. On your QuickBooks profile, click the Gear icon.
  3. In the Your Company section, select Accounts and Settings.
  4. Click the Company menu.
  5. Click the Company type section.
  6. In the Tax form drop-down, select Nonprofit organization (Form 990).
  7. Add the Industry you're operating.
  8. Click Save.
  9. This time, go to the Advanced menu.
  10. Click the Other preferences section.
  11. Choose your preferred Customer label.
  12. Click Save then Done.

That should get you on the right track, @frank11. I've attached an article for your reference: Configure an account for a non-profit organization.

Should you need further assistance with your account, please let me know. I'll be around to get things done for you. Have a good day!

We have been using Quickbooks online for few years for our non-profit paying the 70 fee each month, director just signed up for techsoup and paid for a year.  How do i convert over to this version so we can stop the 70 fee without resetting everything up

Hello there, @HeartnSoul.

You can export your data by manually running the reports or lists you want to export to save the information. However, if you need to export specific reports to Excel, we have an option to do that. Here's how:

  1. On the left navigation panel, click Reports.
  2. Look for the report that you want to export.
  3. Select Export to Excel.

For more details, please check export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online for your reference.

Once done, you can cancel the subscription by going to the Account and Settings. From there, you'll have the option to cancel your subscription.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner. Then, choose Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Billing and subscription tab.
  3. From the QuickBooks section, choose Cancel subscription or Cancel online.
  4. Select Continue to cancel. Then, click the Continue to cancel button.
  5. Follow the next steps.
  6. Select Submit and cancel subscription.
  7. Hit Got it.

Also, changing from nonprofit to the taxable business, you can follow the steps provided above.

Get back to me if there's anything you need assistance with. I'm a few clicks away to help. Have a good day!
