Let's resolve this bank error you're having, @mdgarner71.

 

Can you tell us more about the bank that you're having trouble with? That'll help us check to see if there's an ongoing issue with it.

 

The bank transactions that are being downloaded in the bank register always depend on how a bank shared it with QuickBooks. Try to check if your online banking account is pulling up your transactions the same way with QBO. 

 

If it is showing the same behavior, you can exclude the transactions in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account:

 

  1. Go to Banking menu on the left panel and choose Banking tab.
  2. Check the box beside the transactions you want to exclude.
  3. Click the Exclude button. 

However, if it's only happening in QBO, then I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team. They have the tools to get into your account in a secure environment, isolate the issue you're having and help you resolve it. 

 

You can reach them by following the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Help icon to connect to a live support agent. 
  2. Click on the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern.
  3. After adding some insight, tick on the Let's talk button. 
  4. Lastly, select the Get a callback button to arrange a call from them. contact support.JPG

Hi, I'm not sure if my reply posted, so trying again.  The bank I'm having syncing issues with is Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union.  The sync used to work just fine, but this last time, it pulled transactions from the wrong account (a seperate personal account), and none from the correct ones.  I "excluded" the superfluous account info, but am still missing my business account transactions.  

I do not get an option to set up a callback.  When I type in my issue, the only option I see is to "continue" which brings me to more options of reading articles, reaching out to the "community," or private messaging.  No call back option.  

I'm happy to trouble shoot, and the only 2 things I can think of are: 

Our ip address recently changed due to a hurricane taking down our internet for a week. 

The two accounts I've mentioned both start with the same 4 numbers, visible in parenthesese when viewing their nicknames.

Since you've mentioned that this is not a banking issue, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team. Their tools can further check the transactions that are pulling-up to your account in a safe environment.

I tried disconnecting the account and reconnecting again, and this time it seemed to connect the right one.  It pulled 2 recent transactions, but it missing all others from 7/2/20 to 10/1/2020.

This has just started happening to me also,  my personal info is getting pulled into business accounts and I am not sure how quickbooks even got my personal info at all.  Very concerning.

Thanks for joining this thread. Allow me to assist you with these bank transactions.


I understand that you're concerned with how QuickBooks Online was able to download your personal transactions. QuickBooks Online (QBO) only depends on what the bank provided to us. They are the ones who send these transactions and QBO will only show them into your register.

 

You'll want to check and see if you also linked your personal account to QBO. You'll want to disconnect, then reconnect the bank account. Please check these links for more details:

 

With regards to these downloaded transactions, you can exclude them so they won't cause discrepancies on your register.

 

If this behavior continues, I suggest you reach out to our Support Team so they can investigate it.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Bank transactions".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

I never added my personal accounts to the HOA quick books,  I deleted and re added the HOA accounts but they are still pulling transacations from my personal accounts.  The only similarity is they are all at the same bank and my name is on signature cards but numbers are all different.  I dont want my personal banking info to be seen by either quick books or any other members of our HOA board that have access to this account.  I am extremely concerned about the privacy breech.

I can share some information about bank connections in QuickBooks, @HOASouthernTrace

 

QuickBooks Online protects your transactions with multiple layers of security so you can bank online with confidence. Also, we don’t sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for their promotional use.

 

The connection for online banking is always read-only so that no one can use any of your information in our product to move any money. For more information about this, refer to this article: How secure is Online Banking through QuickBooks?.

 

I suggest checking with your online banking account and verifying the transactions showing from QuickBooks and from the website. You may also check with them what will be posted to third-party apps, like QuickBooks. If you have certain transactions missing from the website and are showing in QuickBooks Online (QBO), I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team. 

 

They can get into your QBO account in a secure environment, isolate where or what these transactions are, and help you resolve them. After adding your transactions, you can now match and categorize those transactions and reconcile them to ensure your books are accurate and there aren't any duplicate transactions:
